Women for Biden gather to announce their support
Des Moines, IA (November 18, 2007) – Former DNC member and longstanding Iowa caucus veteran, Paulee Lipsman, today joined over 100 Women for Biden activists who will caucus for Sen. Biden on January 3rd. Women traveled from the state, including a number of prominent Iowa state legislators, elected officials and activists. In attendance were State Reps. Speaker Pro Tem Polly Butka, Assistant House Majority Leader Lisa Heddens, Mary Gaskill of Ottumwa, Doris Kelley of Waterloo, along with Scott County Board of Supervisors Roxanna Moritz, Phyllis Hughes Ewing, daug! hter of Former Iowa Governor Harold Hughes, and Dubuque activist Teri Goodmann. Delaware’s first woman Governor, Ruth Ann Minner attended the event as part of her weekend of campaigning in Iowa on behalf of Sen. Biden.

In announcing her support for Sen. Biden today, Paulee Lipsman said, “I looked over the field and talked to friends and family who had Joe Biden at the top of their list, but were not sure he could win. I have finally decided, as have many others, that Joe Biden in fact will make a great president and I want to do everything I can to help him win.”

“We are building the infrastructure to have a very successful caucus night,” said Danny O’Brien, Iowa State Director for the Biden campaign, “With the ‘queen of the caucuses’ on our team—Paulee Lipsman—our operation will now be that much more fierce and effective. We will exceed expectations on caucus night.”

1. You know...
I hope those women all show up for the caucus. And, see there's that "we were not sure he can win" statement. LOL. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, people will realize that he is doable. LOL...

Once again if everyone who says they like Joe but he cant win actually supports Joe then he can win.

4. That's exactly....
the thought I woke up to about a month ago. I went to his site, donated big, bought stickers for my car, and I am totally and completely supporting him. And that is unwavering.

5. One has to wonder
If they know about his abortion stances?

That he opposes public funding for abortion and consistently votes to ban partial birth abortions.

Is there any link to who exactly these women are?

6. I'm one of those women
I have to admit he wasn't on my radar until about a month ago...I kept hoping Wes Clark or Gore would join in as I see them as true leaders. I looked at Sen. Clinton, Sen. Obama and Edwards and I felt something was lacking. It was I suppose a sense that personal ambition overrode true sense of obligation to the common good. The second tier candidates deserve a hard look, they are all leaders with long histories of public service; Dodd, Richardson and finally Biden.

Biden stands out to me as a world class figure and eminently electable democrat. The popularity contest is not serving the public well, we are not getting the best of the best. I plan to vote for Biden in the CA primary. Hopefully he's still in it by then. A win in Iowa would be huge, I think that's still possible.

I cast no aspersions on the other candidates, I just feel he has the capacity for greatness and bravery in difficult times.

I'm not affiliated with any candidate and the only political contribution I've made this year is to John Laesch for Ill congress. I looked at Biden's page and probably will contribute to him also.

7. Hello fellow Clarkie.
Well, I certainly understand your choice and you've clearly been very thoughtful about making your choice.

I've going with Obama because I believe he truly does have the wisdom, character, and experience to tranform the nation and the world. It is a bit of a leap of faith, but since Clark's not running I'm willing to take it. And Obama inspires more confidence in me everyday that he can be a great leader. I do believe in the audacity of hope, as cliche as that's become now.

I think an Obama/Clark ticket would be incredible...we can all dream, right?
