I guess that does come off as a red flag. A brief history of my voting record.

'96 Perot (I was young)
'00 Gore (Sigh)
Primary '04 Dean
'04 Kerry

Though my two favorite elections were for my city's mayor in '01 and again in '05. My candidate actually won.

32. It's a reference to South Park re: Snukes
Thought ppl would pick up on that. A funny jab is all.

I'm nearly all in for Obama. Though I'd certainly vote for Hildog if she gets the nomination unless there's a weird third party Gore/(Paul/Obama/Dean) ticket.

6. We can only hope
The current primary setup seems rigged to produce a disastrous outcome like a Hillary candidacy. She's going to need a major stumble or two between now and January.

38. DING DING DING! Rucky, you're our grand prize winner!
I predict that Iowa and NH will be unpredictable.

The problem is that Hillary, the MSM, and even the Rethugs tried to make her victory seem inevitiable. It culminated in the favoritism she got from CNN at the Nevada debate. In the resulting backlash, people are beginning to noticed as she's as mortal as the other candidates are, that's all.

20. Must be a sign of desperation all this complaining of "haters"!
The idea of calling those who disagree "haters" is very Bush-like. After all, in the lead-up to the Iran War, anyone who didn't support Bush were called Bush "haters".

But here we have a front runner, whose supporters must be so worried that they call anyone else a "hater". Not exactly the type of rhetoric one would expect from someone confident of winning....

Just sayin'

25. Did Hillary PEAK to soon? - Yes, did Obama wait until the most advantageous moment to begin? Yes
and with Oprah Winfrey waiting in the wings to be cue'd, for Iowa and New Hampshire Obama's campaign planning is quite exceptional.

26. Not at all. Iowa was never part of the narrative of inevitability. In fact,
after having an unplanned-for and unexpected two months or so in the lead in the Iowa polls, Hillary's recent return there to 2nd (or even 3rd) place, a month and a half before the caucuses, is pretty good timing. Better now than around Christmas, a week before, causing other people to bloviate about Big Mo and whatnot. She can lose and will still be the favorite to go ahead and win this thing. This might actually help her - this might encourage the ingenue and the desperate adventurer (the "not black enough" man named Hussein and Mr. Twenty-Eight-Thousand-Square-Feet) to start whaling on each other, rather than sniping at Our Girl.

Iowa was never part of the narrative. Oh She will fight for it, and if She wins it, it puts an end to the nominating process on the day of the first vote. Iowa would just be the cherry on top of the Sundae of Inevitability. We can do without the cherry.

Booyah!

that one of the top runners isn't really making a serious play for the first primary of the season? And that not winning will help?

Just....WoW. :wow:

28. I believe the Obama campaign was running to take the momentum
in late November. You get the Thanksgiving family talk without the negative, after that you have four weeks and basically a down time until the Iowa caucus. Then a strong January is needed for Feb. 5 and BAM, you have derailed the self proclaimed best organization in history.

30. I don't think she peaked. She's about where she was. Edwards is collapsing which helps Obama.
Edited on Wed Nov-21-07 03:32 AM by David Zephyr
Obama let Edwards go after Hillary to Edwards' own demise. The real battle in Iowa and New Hampshire was always between Edwards and Obama because Hillary has been pretty much a shoo-in for the top two. That's where Edwards went off track in going after her. It hurt her some and it left him looking like he was continually attacking her. Obama's gains clearly match the losses from Edwards. Clinton remains about where she was.

I think that Edwards opting for Federal Matching Funds was a real loser with a lot of primary voters because it would leave him vulnerable to GOP attacks in ads between the primaries and the convention when he would get new funds. It was one of the ways that Bill Clinton destroyed Bob Dole back in 1996.

I've wondered if Obama's camp was behind the push polling against Edwards because it would benefit him the most. There's no proof, but again, the race was between the two men to be in the top two with Hillary. It may be too late now for Edwards.

Yes, she peaked too soon and the front runner never wins.

No, Obama and/or Edwards are peaking too soon and Hillary will be able to adjust.

43. Doesnt matter, the media will control who most will vote for.
From the media coverage to date, I would say she doesn't have anything to worry about. A republican probably wont win because the sheeple are angry about the shape of our country and need someone with the letter D to continue the course, that way all of the sheeple feel everything will be okay, I mean, only republicans are corrupt, all of our beloved democrats are pure and in office to serve us the people not the corporations, powerful and wealthy. :sarcasm:
