Poll question: Resolved by 2008 Democratic Convention: No Presidential pardons for Bush and Cheney!
The 2008 Democratic Convention must include a pro-Constitution plank in the platform! The plank must state that the Democratic Party and its nominee are committed to restoring the Constitution to its proper place as the Law of the Land. The plank must further state that the Democratic Party and its nominee pledge that a Democratic Administration will not cover up wrongdoing, and will not tolerate law breaking by members of the Executive Branch. Further, the Democratic Party and its nominee make a solemn promise that there will be no Presidential pardons for Bush, Cheney, or any other high official in the previous government, and that it will investigate and prosecute any and all crimes committed by officials of the previous government.

It is imperative that the rule of law be restored, and that Bush Administration officials be prosecuted for any crimes they committed. The path to restoring the Constitution and the rule of law begins by not repeating the mistake that President Ford made when he pardon Nixon. Bush and Cheney must not be pardoned!

QUESTION: Should the 2008 Democratic platform include a plank stating that the Democratic nominee, if elected, will not pardon Bush and Cheney?

1. Normally I would think it would go without saying
that there should be no pardons, but with the likelihood increasing that Clinton will be he nominee, it's probably a good idea to have her bound by such a plank to keep her from trying to weasel out and pardon them. I'm sure poppy bush will put the screws on his new BFF bill clinton to pardon his POS son so yes there should be a positive expression of opposition.

2. Since you mentioned, Bill Clinton is very chummy with Poppy Bush
and this increases the likelihood that Hillary would pardon Bush and Cheney if she were to become President. Hillary would say something along the lines of "get over it!"

3. Kucinich would have them arrested and tried.
If there were legal backing for it.

More than enough reason to say:

Go Dennis! :woohoo:

5. Excellent Point!
Every candidate should be required to pledge no immunity.

6. I agree! All of our candidates should take the no pardon pledge
particularly in view of Scott McClellan's revelation that Bush was involved in the Plame outing and coverup.
