Here we go again. Bush & his OPEC brethren raising oil prices obscenely 1 year before the election
....incredibly high enough so when the summer of 2008 rolls around, it gives them enough leeway so they can lower the price of gasoline at the pumps by at least $1 per gallon, giving their sheep the perception that all is well, life is good, and just in time for the elections.

Sure, gas prices are also higher because of the war and how the people over there hate our country's guts because of Bushco meddling in their affairs, but it is absolutely ridiculous how we go through this same exact process every 2-year election cycle where they raise the price to astronomical levels, just for purposes of dropping them drastically just before we vote.

After the already rich oil barons pad their wallets with a few extra billions in profits over the next few months, prices will mysteriously drop by early summer or before, and then they'll continue to be "lower" throughout November of 2008. It happens every time. When will someone catch on and put an end to the corrupt and artificial obscene fluctuations in gas prices that are choreographed by the filthiest of the filthy rich in our own country? How much money does Bush's oil-producing pals in Texas and elsewhere need to make? Isn't a billion or two per year profit for each oil well owner enough? Isn't a billion equal to one thousand millions? These guys are so in cahoots with their OPEC kin that it's pathetic, yet they're always the first ones to hide behind the American flag.

1. They still haven't been able to adequately lie about why
gasoline was mysteriously $1.60 a gallon in Ohio a year ago, before the election. Now, a year ago, gas is $3.00.

That was one of the most blatant bribing attempts ever. They thought they could drop the price of gas to what it was before CLinton left office and people would vote for the GOP.

2. Their ploy almost worked last election, despite the gains we ended up making
I was talking with a local Democratic committee person last year about this and she told me that if the Republicans hadn't gotten gasoline prices reduced (in perception only, that is) from their drastic levels, just in time for the 2006 election, that we Democrats might have made numerous more gains in the House than we did, despite their obvious ploy of raising and then lowering prices...and even perhaps one or two more in the Senate. We both agreed how seriously the voters vote with their wallets and how they are so affected by whether or not the price of gas just happens to be rising or falling prior to an election. Republicans make sure it's always falling in the months leading up to the elections, so they know they have to raise them astronomically the year before to make this work out for them.
