Thank you, Nancy Pelosi
Thanks for sending a prepaid envelope to my house. While I won't be donating to your DCCC fund at this time, I'm assuming you value our voices as much as our money, so that's what I'm sending in that envelope - my opinion.

I particularly like that the primary reason you identified for electing more democrats is so we can have more democrats in power. That lays things out very clearly. I remember thinking at one point it was so we could have representatives who would stop funding the occupation of Iraq, but your letter made it clear that is not even a consideration. Thanks for the truth-in-advertising.

The secondary reason you outlined for electing more democrats is so we can hold republicans ACCOUNTABLE for their crimes. As I noted in red in the margins, I don't see how "we will hold them accountable" is compatible with "we will not hold them accountable, that's off the table."

If you are going to continue to fund the occupation, and if you still can't form the words "let's impeach," please send more envelopes.

Sincerely,

L. W. Fern

3. I do the samething...
I got sick of all the garbage credit card offers in the mail and other bullshit that I too their prepaid envelopes, stuffed them with various other things as well as stickers and comments on the front and sent it back to them. It is great and it seems to work, BecauseI no longer get credit card offers in the mail.

8. Someone has to open the envelope
Edited on Wed Nov-21-07 03:43 PM by lwfern
They may not read the whole thing, but they'll get the idea - their policy of rubberstamping Bush's policies just cost them a small amount of money.

9. I hope others do as well.
Takes a few seconds to just scrawl impeach/withdraw on the top of the form letter and return it to them. :)

23. It IS easy. A sharpie and a blank piece of paper will do. Then just stuff...
...the paper into the envelope and drop it in your local postal receptacle. Voila! Instant feedback!

NGU.

17. Enlarging the democratic majority to sustain the status quo...
while the alternative is to keep the republicans to sustain the status quo.

Aren't you glad you live in a democracy!
Such nice choices...

21. The primary difference between D's and R's:
While neither Democrats nor Republicans will give you the courtesy of a reacharound, at least the Dems use lube.

I guess that's something.

22. Great gesture but Nancy will never read it, neither will her aide that will look for a check and
then toss it in the shredder. Again, a good gesture.
