I think Paul is an asshole, but resolving to forbid casting him in "a positive light" is "1984." The one-choice "vote" is reminiscent of Cuba, Nazi Germany or the USSR.

This is unworthy of DU, IMO.

8. Read the rules. DU is already restrictive.

Democratic Underground is an online community for Democrats and other progressives. Members are expected to be generally supportive of progressive ideals, and to support Democratic candidates for political office.

Ron Paul is not a Democrat and is not a progressive. He is a Republican and a fascist. People who advocate his election don't belong here.

9. It's a big difference between "generally supportive of progressive ideals,"

and "support Democratic candidates for public office." I support those guidelines, and I live up to them, I believe.

and is in no way, shape or form supportive of progressive ideals. He is in fact virulently opposed to them.

There are plenty of other sandboxes for him to play in. IMNSHO, DU has been remarkably tolerant of the Paul threads.
