Hillary; "I have a healthcare plan that covers every single American. He (Obama) does not"
What Hillary is failing to state is that the 15 million not covered by Obama's healthcare plan are those with incomes exceeding a kazillion dollars annually.

Obama argued against a requirement in Clinton's healthcare proposal that people buy coverage, saying his plan has no such mandate.

"There's been a lot of talk about the different plans the candidates have proposed to create a universal healthcare system in this country," Obama said in Des Moines. "But the reason Americans don't have health insurance isn't because they don't want it, it's because they can't afford it, which is why my plan doesn't have a mandate and goes further in cutting costs than any other proposal offered in this race."

Clinton retorted that Obama has a mandate for children.

"It's been kind of confusing following his description of his own plan," Clinton said in her remarks to reporters, adding that Obama first said his plan would offer universal coverage and then said it wouldn't.

But she was evasive when asked about how she would enforce the mandate in her own plan that all Americans must have healthcare.

"There are a variety ways of doing it," she said. "I'm going to negotiate with the Congress over that because different people in Congress have different approaches about how to do that."

1. Requiring everyone to buy insurance is NOT a plan.
I really wish someone would call her on this, but I am not enthusiastic about the odds of that happening...

15. Yes, the majority want to pay for health insurance.
Unfortunately, the majority cannot afford it on their own.

11. Yep and HRC's plan to make underpaid workers tithe to Big Insurance is an insult
A tax on workers paid to Big Insurance? That's not a plan, it's extortion.

5. Mandating coverage is not the same as covering everyone
We require car insurance, yet that doesn't stop people from driving without car insurance.

The only plan that would actually cover everyone would be a single payer plan.

7. There are 15 million people in this country that make "a kazillion dollars" a year?
I had no idea that the upper class was that large.

Oh, wait. It's not.

9. It's just an estimate
Of people who wouldn't voluntarily purchase insurance, at any cost, for a host of reasons. Obama has rebutted with the fact that mandated auto insurance doesn't mean everybody has it either. If people can't afford it, they don't have it. Affordability is the issue.

12. You cant get UNIVERSAL health care without mandates
Even single payer will mandate that income taxes be spent on health care and that people pay tax on a portion of their income. It may not be seperated out in a seperate tax, but it has to paid for somehow and people are going donate enough on a voluntary basis

14. more like
She has a plan that covers every Insurance company. It is a windfall for the insurance lobby, fnanced by We the people.
Clearly she does not know the difference between Universal Health Care and Universal Health Insurance.

UHI continues to make America uncompetitive in the world market, compared to nations with UHC.
UHI drives up the cost of health care, (read as profit) UHC encourages inexpensive options.

I might trust her, except for the amount of money she has received from the insurance lobby. Those boys have a lot of money, and they expect that any pol they buy *STAYS* bought.

Money buys access, whether Bush, WJClinton, Bush or HRClinton. They have invested money for results, not just goodwill, and dammit they expect to be rewarded for their donations.

17. The reason Hillary and Edwards mandate coverage...
Is to reduce the overall cost of healthcare. If insurers can be convinced that everyone will participate, they can lower premiums
