Why is a (supposedly) Democratic presidential candidate appearing on the 700 club anyways?

1. I don't mind the appearance, his very religious rhetoric, or anything else Obama, or any

other candidate does to support their faith. I'll vote according to my own.

I don't think he's lying. I think he means it.

What I do mind is the apologists, trying to convince me that he's just saying it because he's trying to be inclusive, and implying that he would act in a different manner when elected. THAT bothers me. The man has been flat out telling us, through word and actions, exactly what he is about. It's not really something that needs "interpretation."

14. I didn't say that.
And, neither is it wrong for Obama to state his opinions on the 700 Club.

I was pointing out the hypocrisy in the OP.

4. You mean like when they support Bush on Larry King Live but tone their support
Edited on Mon Nov-26-07 02:16 PM by blm
down when they're on Jon Stewart?

Or tell alternative press that RFKjr made a compelling case that Kerry won in 2004 and that election fraud won it for Bush, but tell mainstream media that Kerry lost in 2004 because of National Security?

Yeah - amazing what some Democrats will do in front of different audiences.

10. Really - you don't care when other perceived Dem leaders do it on major issues?
Because I know it chaps my ass when Bush's decisions on terrorism and Iraq war were always supported on the big maintsream shows and then in smaller Dem-oriented shows the audience would be treated to a toned down view.

5. No - they should only talk to people who already agree with them about everything

since any effort to reach out to anyone beyond that is pandering.

7. So, the candidates should confine themselves to secret prayer groups?

Hillary's Prayer: Hillary Clinton's Religion and Politics

For 15 years, Hillary Clinton has been part of a secretive religious group that seeks to bring Jesus back to Capitol Hill. Is she triangulating—or living her faith?

8. ths is a ridiculous thread. Obama is not "supposedly"
a Democratic Presidential candidate. He is one. And I don't like his going on the 700 club, but I don't like Clinton going to creepy Congressional prayer meetings either.

When Obama talks to Christians, he talks the lingo

13. Because they are human beings and americans?
What's wrong with going on a TV show? All of the candidates are Christians AFAIK. Most of the voters are Christians. Evangelicals agree with us on many issues such as the economy. We should not ignore them.

Howard Dean went on the 700 Club not too long ago IIRC.
