Edwards Leans on Mill Roots in New Ad

BOW, N.H. – As a politician, Senator John Edwards has always leaned heavily on his modest background as the son of a mill worker, but today he used it to argue that he is the most trustworthy candidate in the presidential race.

In a statement, his campaign said that a new television ad, to begin running today, details “why he is the one candidate the American people can trust to take on the corrupt system in Washington.”

And speaking at a small town-hall event in New Hampshire this morning, Mr. Edwards closed his remarks by hammering away at the issue of trust.

“When you walk out of here, you decide, up or down, ‘I can trust that guy, I think he’s honest, or I don’t,’ ” Mr. Edwards said.

1. He is the most honest!

His father was a mill worker, at one time in Spalding County,Georgia this county was heavily textile at one time, about 4 huge for the times cotton mills, ever heard of Dundee before that was Kincaid Mills, manf. towels and other house hold items.

7. I do like Edwards and would vote for him in the GE

But to be honest the son of a mill worker stuff kind of turns me off. I am the son of a mill worker and I am a mill worker and him bringing that up all the time seems kind of condescending to me like he is better than that now. I like him but I just don't care if he is the son of a mill worker just because he is a lawyer now in my opinion doesn't make him better than a mill worker.
