DK statement on "Joe is Right" Ad, LOL - Whatever DK....
Edited on Mon Nov-26-07 09:44 PM by 1corona4u
If You Love Joe Biden, You'll Love Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Richardson, and Dodd -- but Not Kucinich

DES MOINES, Iowa, Nov. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In a new ad blitz
in Iowa today, U.S. Sen. and Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden
exclaims about the "wonderful" support his "national security and foreign
affairs" strategies are getting from Senators Hillary Clinton, Barack
Obama, and Chris Dodd; former Senator John Edwards; and New Mexico Governor
Bill Richardson.

"The Congressman has the utmost respect for Senator Biden and his years
of service to the nation. He just happens to be wrong on some very major
issues; and, if the other candidates agree with him, then they're wrong,
too.

"They voted to authorize the war in Iraq. They approved continued
funding of the war. They voted for the Patriot Act. They supported trade
agreements that have had a devastating impact on American workers. They
have failed to challenge the President and the Vice President for their
unrepentant and continued violations of the U.S. Constitution."

"If voters are dissatisfied with the Biden tweedle-dums and
tweedle-dees, they should vote for someone who represents their beliefs and
their values. Not someone who says, 'I agree with Joe.' Dennis doesn't
agree with Joe. Or Hillary. Or Barack. Or John. Or Chris. Or Bill."

Stupid stuff like this that comes out of DK's mouth is why I could never take him seriously. He's like a toddler tattling on someone, LOL...

2. What's he saying here that's untrue?
Although I have a feeling the answer I get is going to be another off the wall response.

Oh, and didn't you take issue with me calling Biden a whore? Not that I really care, but here you are comparing DK to a toddler. Should I request you stifle your opinion on this matter?

19. Who's with me on putting inthebrain on ignore?
His responses add nothing to DU discussions. When I come across one of his posts it's like rolling over while sleeping and waking up to the discovery that your dog had peed in the bed. It's a bummer that you soon get over, but hope not to repeat. Bye, inthebrain. This is the last time I'll roll over on your pee spot.

3. When it comes to voting for the Iraq war, Joe was NOT right.
Neither was Hillary. Or John. Or Chris. Barack didn't get a vote, but he DID claim it was a "dumb war", and he WAS right about that, yet he votes to continue it now. Bill Richardson didn't get a vote, but he seems to be the only DLC associated candidate who shows any interest at all in ending this clusterfuck.

12. Have to take exception with your statement about Bill Richardson seeming to
be the only one who shows any interest in ending the clusterfuck. As you know, Biden has introduced an amendment (which passed) with the intention of taking steps to do just that.

Or maybe you didn't include him because he's not DLC?

Anyway, Biden is trying and has taken action (even though who knows what the fuck has happened to it). Nobody else has.

25. I know that Biden has proposed some things.
His partition plan is about half right. No I haven't read it, but the reality is that NO states/partitions created by the occupier (that would be "us") are going to be considered valid, even if they separate the Sunni and Shia factions. The Kurds are pretty much on their own already. The whole problem with Iraq is that it was never a legitimate country to begin with, but a construct of imperialist oil interests (beginning with the British Empire)

I mentioned Richardson because he was the one candidate among the "establishment candidates" who said he could bring the troops home within his first term, when the other Senators wouldn't commit to that.

32. Actually Biden's amendment was only to show the senate's
approval of a plan which only the Iraqis could implement. It would reflect the Iraqi constitution, not the will of the U.S.

34. I'm honestly not trying to be contrary, but Richardson initially said he would
bring them all home in 6 months. He said he had met with military leaders and they assured him it was do-able. (Biden said logistically it was impossible, by the way). THEN Richardson said he'd bring them home in a year. My point being that Richardson may not be able to deliver what he believes he can (although I'm pretty sure getting all the troops home in 4 years could be accomplished...)

Biden also said that if his plan was implemented and it wasn't showing signs of success by the time he became President (!) then he'd get them all home ASAP because otherwise they'd just be fodder. So the next President takes office in Jan of 2009, and if that were the scenario (plan being implemented, but not 'working'), essentially Biden has committed to bring them all home within his first term as well.

Also, on the partition - according to Biden's plan it wouldn't be US doing the partitioning -- it would be the people themselves so it's not as though he's promoting that we go in, divide it up according to how we want it, then build walls or anything...

I'm sincerely not trying to get you to see the "Biden Light", but I just want his approach to be accurately represented - whether he's right or wrong.

And I agree about many of the problems in that region being exacerbated by the British Empire's interference.

7. I'm having trouble with the link - anybody else?
This statement doesn't bother me in the least. Kucinich is just stating the differences between his and Joe's view of the issues -- something he's been up front about all along. I wouldn't expect any less from Kucinich - like Joe, he's a straight shooter.

Now you're just being rude. It is not in your power to "let us have our way".

If you disagree with us, that's fine, but you could express your disagreement in a more civil tone.
