Edwards first Democrat to come out in support of broadway stagehands!
A Democrat Breaks Silence on Broadway Strike

A Democratic presidential hopeful, John Edwards, will put other leading White House contenders in an awkward position by announcing today that he supports the striking Broadway stagehands.

The Democrats so far have been noticeably quiet about the stagehand strike that is crippling Broadway and costing the city millions of dollars, though they have for the most part publicly supported the writers in the Writers Guild of America strike in Hollywood.

1. Good for him!
The propaganda is in overdrive. I heard someone complain that the stagehands wanted to be "paid for four hours for moving a piano!"

No, it's way better for someone to commute one or two hours each way to clock in for fifteen minutes and then back out.

4. absolutely
The league of Producers, is here trying again as with the 2003 musicians strike to eliminate union workers from Broadway. All they have to do is destroy one union and the rest can be picked off over time. This is a crucial moment for the NYC labor movement.

8. Labor Knows Who They Can Count On As Well As Who They Cannot!
That's why Edwards has racked up so many Labor Endorsements. Quite simply, Organized Labor realizes that John Edwards is the ONLY candidate that can be TRUSTED. O8)
