I take that as a personal insult. I've never personally insulted you, or your "integrity". I'm entitled to my opinion, and so are you. But you don't even know me, so please, I won't insult you, and you don't insult me. The candidates are fair game.

Edited on Tue Nov-27-07 04:01 PM by asdjrocky
I don't like your candidate, I'm sure your a great person. As far as being "taught" by other Edwards supporters, that sounds like another personal insult. I'm pretty straight forward, no one that knows me would accuse me of "deflecting" anything. I'm just a working slob that supports the guy who most supports working slobs like me. (And he's got the endorsements to prove it.)

But I'm sure you don't want to talk about that. You'd just rather insult people, which just serves to "deflect" from the real point.

Again, good luck to your candidate.

26. Perfect, when Maya shows up, I'll apologize to her.
Or, if you see her, please tell her I said I'm sorry.

(By the way, I've read everything she has written and I find her words inspiring. She was born in my home town. And yes, I've met her and shaken her hand. She is an amazing woman. That being said, she'll never tell me how to vote.)

The Clinton machine, and the people they associate with, and where the money comes from:

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Burson-Marsteller

These are the people that matter to me. These are the ones I do not trust.

I've done all of this without insulting you. See how it works? Please never accuse a person who is passionately arguing a point of crying.

You should know better.

My pick.

29. DO you think Rep John Lewis took a bribe?
Because thats what you said earlier. You can either stand by your statement (and by doing so, make your lack of integrity obvious) or you can take your words back (proving the lack of integrity in making the remark in the first place)

Which is it going to be?

31. Perhaps,
In my original reply, I should have worded it differently. I didn't mean to insinuate that these people took money in brown paper bags.

I'll say I'm sorry for inferring that.

Maybe I should have said: Look what Celebrity can buy. Or, look what the DLC can buy. Maybe that would have been more accurate.

Again, my problems were with personal insults to my integrity. I thought we were allowed to say basicly what we wanted about candidates without fear of being personally attacked. Am I wrong about that? I mean, if we're allowed to throw personal insults around like they mean nothing, then fine. I'm all in. Hell, I grew up on the poor side of town, I can throw with the best of 'em. But I don't want to do that. And I think we can all do better.

I do not like HRC, and most of the machine that supports her. I'll say that whenever I like. And, until I'm told otherwise, I won't insult you while exercising what is my right here on DU.

Good luck to you and your candidate.

My pick for 08.

32. If you post baseless accusations, the integrity of those posts can be called into question
Nothing in the rules about questioning the integrity of a baseless accusation.

So you've accused Rep Lewis of taking a bribe and no one said it was in a brown paper bag. So tell us what evidence you have to support such a dishonest claim, or is your charge completely baseless as I suspect?

34. This is what I'm talking about,
"Most of those people have more integrity in their pinky finger than you do in your body"

This was the statement I took objection to. Again, this was my answer to you,

Again, I didn't mean to accuse Rep Lewis, Maya, or anyone of actually TAKING money. SORRY if you saw the word "bribe" in my original reply. It wasn't there. If you keep going along this path then am I to assume that there are no rules about questioning your intelligence?

I'm not questioning the integrity of anyone here, on DU, or calling you or anyone else on DU, a liar for holding an opinion. Think what you like, call my candidate, or any other public figure to task as you like. A personal insult is a personal insult. No matter how you want to dress it.

And by the way, I have no personal problem with you, or whoever you support.

36. I'm sorry but it's not about the exact words you used
It was your baseless accusation about people like John Lewis that offends, so again I will ask you if you have ANY evidence that John Lewis' endorsement was "bought"? I am not asking anything about money.

If you think Rep Lewis endorsed Clinton because of "celebrity" than can you provide ANY evidence that Lewis was swayed by Clinton's celebrity? Any evidence that Lewis has EVER been swayed by celebrity into endorsing someone?

If you have NO EVIDENCE for your accusations, then why shouldn't the integrity of your claims be questioned?

37. It's time to put up or shut up
When people make accusations they usually:

1)Identify who did wrong
2) Identify what they did wrong
3) Provide evidence showing #1 and #2 is true

You have done none of these. You obviously are making an accusation of some sort, so you can either tell us who you are accusing, what you're accusing them of and provide evidence, or you can back completely off and disavow your accusations

27. Bill Clinton for Hillary Clinton.
Democrats, by and large, love Bill Clinton and his support goes a long way in helping her candidacy.

28. Ha ha ha there go those Obama groupies trying to play down
a Hillary endorsement. Over half the people in this country can't stand Oprah so what does that get him. I can't stand talk shows, with any body as host and I know a hell of a lot of people who feel the same. So what good does any endorsement mean. Squat.

33. This is childish. They are all great endorsements. And they are all polarizing
figures. None of them are likley to get the candidates more votes, just more press, and a bump in crowd numbers if they actively campaign...

OK, so who's likely to bump up the crowd numbers more?

Why can't people respond to the question instead of all the cheap frills?
