Poll question: Was today's repig debate the most disturbing?
I found the other repug debates funny, this one terrified me. Are these people stable enough mentally to be running for president? It was sickening to watch these deranged people, and it was saddening, but not surprising, watching the audience boo the openly gay retired general. Well, what did you think?

2. This is the first one I watched and it was extremely disturbing.
Most of them are targeting their campaigns to a very narrow group of wealthy racists. The gun nuts (who were actually shooting on video) must be terrifying to anyone with a child. It was a disaster of a debate.

3. It really puts all the squabbling on DU in perspective, doesn't it?
This is the reason that people who say "I won't support Hillary/Obama/Edwards/etc in a GE" are complete idiots.

4. I think they're forgetful
Sometimes you need one of these debates as a reminder. It was profoundly fucked up. They're arguing about immigration and guns while the housing market thanks, oil skyrockets, and people literally die from lack of affordable health care. They're priorities are a mess.

6. Sorry but I just gotta ask...
How the hell can anyone bear to watch even five seconds of any of these(even Democratic)soul-sucking, vapid, depressing exercises in pablum feeding? They're nothing but media circuses, and opportunities for the corporate media to frame the alleged "debate", and for the candidates to out-pander each other and fashion thirty second infomercials. Not only can't I watch them, but just contemplating how debasing they are to whatever shambles are left of the democratic process makes me projectile :puke:
Other than that, though, they're probably more fun than "American Idol"

7. I agree Lirwin.. The candidates, the audience, and the idiots on the videos were all...
... very WARPED!

Also, Anderson Cooper was pretty wimpy when it came to keeping them to their allotted time for responding.

He kept saying in a low, timid sounding voice:

"time" ..

Uh... "time"..

"Er.. you only had 30 seconds sir"..

Um............

The Rethugs completely ignored him ---->

Anderson needed to be more firm and cut those long-winded SOB's off when their time was up!

8. Yes, very disturbing...
the image of the confederate flag in that goons room makes me sick. I wonder if he has any African-American friends? And the idiot with the gun?

Why is running around with weapons any different than the images we've been shown of Al-Qaeda training camps? These gun loving cretins are just as dangerous: witness the Oklahoma City bombing courtesy of Timothy McVeigh.

9. Much was made of CNN going through
hours and hours of tapes to get the best questions. These were the best questions? "Do you believe everything in the bible?" "What does the confederate flag mean to you?" Lots of gun questions. No foreign policy questions to speak of. No health care questions. No Social Security questions. What bullshit. And the men on that stage tonight have to be the worst group I have ever seen. The most disturbing thing was that one of them will probably win the nomination.
