Clemson U. Political Science Prof. Rudy is DOA in South Carolina
Comment by J. David Woodard, Dept. of Political Science, Clemson University
Comment by Professor J. David Woodard - Nov 30, 2007

According to the Palmetto Poll at Clemson University in South Carolina, Rudy Giuliani had dropped from being tied
for the lead to fifth in the eyes of GOP primary voters. That was BEFORE the news of the security trips being paid for
by city funds story broke. I suspect that Giuliani will finish way back in the S.C. primary on January 19th.

1. Think his immoral behavior has something to do with it?
I do. And the article says that Huckabee is a rising star on the GOP side. He is in a "covenant marriage".

5. I don't think SC has sharia law
but they do have plenty of Southern Baptists who say they don't like adultery and such like. That was what I was commenting on.

4. I don't think McCain can make a comeback
though I did just read that the Union Bleater is going to endorse him. I'm betting he'll still do relatively poorly in NH.

6. He's The Most Credible Republican Candidate...He Polls Best
And if the media portrays the surge as working the Iraq War issue is neutralized whether we like it or not...To a large extent the media informs most of the electorate what is real and what isn't real and they believe it...If you remember the anti-war candidate got crushed in 1972 because Nixon convinced the American people "Vietnamization" was working and he was going to bring peace with honor...As Santayana said "Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it."
