I think, is also pretty good at just moderating. And no smart-assing. I mean, before these "moderators," for better or worse, are men and women who've gotten themselves on that stage. You can question them strongly, IMO, and still show respect. Contrast Russert, Tweety, and on and on.

I've watched his PBS show and he generally asks straight forward questions, focuses on policy, and stays away from silly "gotchas".
