Why I hate Republicans
Edited on Sun Dec-02-07 11:02 PM by Stargazer99
My social security doesn't even cover rent, utilities and food much LESS dental and vision. When I was younger and working I could never get a decent paying job. Yes, I went to school to upgrade my skills. Now I'm apparently too old and do not have enough skills. I remember when employers were forced to set up retirement programs, there sure were none for low income people before that. Your damned social safety net is so full of holes it is pathetic. No wonder Europeans when they come here are agast at food banks and the medical/dental conditions that are rampant. If the capitalist cannot create a society where basic needs are met because the enitities want more and more profit then capitalism is an evil tool. But then again who gives a damn if it isn't your bull being gored! Right?
We need a Roosevelt (a traitor to his class). The people who control this country ought to spend a few days in hell, I'd prefer to send Republicans and those Demos who feel no pain straight to the hell I'm living in. I don't drink, I don't smoke and have struggled with educating myself to be employable most of my life and now I'm sick of it. Section 8 housing is not taking applications and the older persons employment division has no openings and yet the damn landlord, utilitiy company, etc keep upping their rates. How many others have no access to health and dental care much less fear living out in the street. What a rotten nation! Classless society my *ss!

4. Thanks for posting this, Stargazer99
I'm sorry you're going though tough times and I hope things get better for you somehow. Posts like yours are what it's all about, and we should spend more time talking about circumstances like this, but it's unfortunate that half the place would rather spend every waking minute looking up dirt on Hillary Clinton and inventing dirt where they can't find any.

Keep the faith, though. We're gonna get a Dem in the WH and maybe things will improve soon.

6. and might I remind you all
that Republicans would look at this post and want to know why you couldn't get a better job? They'll just suppose you're lazy. No thought about any mitigating circumstances. And if you're so broke, then you have no business spending time on a computer they'll say - how come you can even afford a computer or an internet service. Never would think that this can be done from a public pc in the library.

I see this over and over again- conservatism and the free market are failed ideaologies that have ruined our country and our world.

8. My sister told me she voted for a Repub in our statewide election last month
The race was for Ag secretary. The Dem on the ticket had just switched from being a repub and was indicted shortly after winning the primary. He is a real nut case. I did not vote in the race, though the Repub is qualified and not really a bad person. I just can't lend ANY credibility to the Repub party right now by voting for any of their candidates. They need to be stopped - period!
I know other dems who did the same as my sister, saying this guy is a good person. Screw that. The g.o.p., as a political party, is a threat to democracy and I can't support that.

9. You're not alone in your hate
I've reached the point where I'm openly losing my temper with the Republicans in my workplace and came close to blows on one occasion. I can't talk to the Republicans in my family. Holidays suck and I don't even attend half the time any more because I want to kick them all in the groin to wake them the hell up. I fucking hate every last one of them for what they've done to this country.
