My choice of candidate has nothing to do with...
whether or nor I like another candidate.

It never has.

I'm supporting Clinton, but that doesn't make me like Obama any less. I like or dislike candidates regardless of where they stand in the polls, and regardless of whether they threaten my "choice".

I supported Clark in 2004, but I also liked John Kerry. It never would've occurred to me to think less of Kerry or to attack him because I supported Clark.

It doesn't have to be a zero-sum game. I can like multiple candidates, while preferring one above the others.

But I can tell I'm in a very small minority here.

2. Do you have something of substance to say?
Smileys don't make an argument.

19. Oh, I know
when one of them told a blatant lie and got called on it, she must've spread the word to just use substanceless innuendo instead.

it's pathetic.

3. I'm the same way, but if you did happen to have a beef with a particular candidate..
That should be ok too, and you should be able to share it on DU without being attacked.

I've pretty much avoided all the candidate threads lately. I haven't made up my mind yet and when I do I'll cast my vote and be content that I made the right choice.

4. I've always been pretty clear
that I liked Clinton and Obama best, think highly of Biden and Richardson, dislike Edwards, and think Kucinich isn't a serious candidate. I have no feelings either way about Dodd.

I made those feelings clear before I chose to support Clinton, and they're still my expressed feelings.

Despite the lame smiley-post above, nobody can demonstrate that my feelings about other candidates have changed substantially since I decided to support Clinton. Biden has risen in my estimation since that time, though, but that has nothing to do with my choice.

7. Why would any of us have a BEEF with another Dem candidate?
So far, the only BEEF I've seen have been hateful, personal, inhumane and nasty. Not to mention, my ignore list grows. Funny, when that happens, feels like a vote for Huckabee :sarcasm:

Ergo, Factory Farmed CAFO Beef

I love my candidate and nobody will change my mind, only my candidate has that power to fu*k with my head and change my mind.

I love all the rest of the Dem field, even Gravel, and would never EVER post a slimefest post about them, even Gravel.

Dang, I can't even get down and dirty with the Republican field. I'm may be a bleeding heart liberal, but at least I have a heart :D

12. Because some of them aren't very Democratic (capital D).
And some of them pretend to be when they're not actually and some of them don't even pretend and, yet, others don't have a snowball's chance in hell.

:hi:

13. That's fine
I'm not saying we have to like all the candidates. I'm saying it's dumb to attack a candidate because he or she may be a threat to YOUR candidate securing the nomination.

And it's dumb to tear down a candidate who might be our nominee.

14. Two words.. Mike Gravel.
He's the only candidate that I felt wasn't even a Democrat. He was a first class asshole too. I'm happy that he's gone.

5. Not that small of a minority...
There's only one candidate I actively dislike AS a candidate and my reasons are hardly a secret. The others are simply not MY pick, but quite acceptable should they gain the nomination. I'll even vote for the one I DON'T want because the alternative sucks.

9. I agree
and its why I don't smear the others: one of them may well be the candidate, and I will vote for him, and I will hope he wins next November. Tearing down the other candidates now is just stupid.

10. Nope. You're in the OH SHUT UP majority, I think!!
I like most of the candidates, genuinely. My difficulty is ORDERING them. Not ordering them about, but putting them in favorite, second favorite, third favorite, order.

I got a chance to listen to Dodd this morning, and he got a couple of up-checks from me for his responses on the radio. He did well. I liked the way Clinton handled herself in that hostage aftermath--she was very dignified, I thought. I liked Edwards' going out and hitting the picket line with the writers...I thought that was pretty impressive. I like the way Biden handles himself on the international scene--he is no neophyte and it shows. I don't understand the "Hillary Attacks" page that the Obama people have put up--it's like a list of "I'm TELLING" sins and it doesn't refute any of the "attacks" at all. That makes no sense to me. I think Obama is a great orator, but his staff doesn't seem to be helping him with some of the decisions they make. His HOPE message clashes with some of the campaign moves, IMO. Kucinich and Gravel were interesting, but they need to get out of the way, now, IMO.

I'm not 'there' yet in deciding on a candidate. I could vote for most of them. I still have a little time--I probably will decide in late JAN! I have a lot on my plate the next two months...

11. Yeah
I guess there are more people who think like me than I realize. It's just the ones who don't are the most obvious and prolific ones here.

17. MonkeyFunk, you are not alone. Most of us who support Hillary...
have arrived at that point after dissecting all of them.

Most would do a decent job. Some would do an even better job.

Thats about all we can hope for.

I have noticed that suddenly, while Hillary was in the lead, that a lot of Repugs have decided to"spend more time with our families."

Is it Hillary they are avoiding?

18. I don't think so
I think they see a coming bloodbath in the congressional elections and want to retire rather than lose. And some just much enjoy being in the minority.
