Why does Hillary hate young people so much?
First, she calls young people lazy...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BROOKVILLE, N.Y., May 14 — Backing away from her assertion that the current generation is lazy, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton said on Sunday that she simply wanted to "set the bar high" when she told an audience last week that young people today "think work is a four-letter word."

Mrs. Clinton said her daughter, Chelsea, called to complain after learning about her remarks at a gathering of the United States Chamber of Commerce in Washington on Thursday. In that speech, Mrs. Clinton criticized young people for having a sense of entitlement after growing up in a "culture that has a premium on instant gratification."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Second, at the same time she calls young people "lazy" she advocates outsourcing and trade policies that ship the jobs that would be available for young people out of the USA....

Hillary Clinton woos India
By Siddharth Srivastava

NEW DELHI - For all those who think that Hillary Clinton isn't gearing up for the US presidential elections circa 2008, they would do well to take a peep at her recent visit to India. She wasn't here as the wife of ex-president Bill Clinton, well known for enjoying India having visited the country several times as president, meanwhile charming a whole lot of Indians.
...
Hillary clears outsourcing air
Hillary Clinton made it apparent where she stood on outsourcing during her India visit, in an attempt perhaps to clear the Indian misgivings received during the Kerry campaign. "There is no way to legislate against reality. Outsourcing will continue," she told an audience of Indian big-wigs. She pointed out that there were 3 billion people who feel left behind and are trying to attack the modern world in the hope of turning the clock back on globalization. "It is not far-fetched to imagine ... if the Indian miracle would be the one of choice of those who feel left behind," said Hillary.

Hillary has been at the forefront in defending free trade and outsourcing. During the height of the anti-outsourcing backlash in the US last year, she faced considerable flak for defending Indian software giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for opening a center in Buffalo, New York. "We are not against all outsourcing; we are not in favor of putting up fences," Hillary said firmly, despite inevitably invoking the ire of the anti-free trade brigade.
...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Third, she complains about legally eligible students who came from out of state being able to vote in the caucus.

CANDIDATES CLASH ON IOWA STUDENT VOTE...On Saturday a spokesperson for Hillary Clinton slammed Barack Obama's campaign for encouraging out-of-state students from Iowa to come back from winter break early to participate in the caucuses.

"There's a real difference here," said the spokeswoman Mo Elleithee, "We are not systematically trying to manipulate the Iowa caucuses with out of state people. We don't have literature recruiting out of state college students. We didn't bus in folks from out of state." Chris Dodd was quick to jump in with his own reprimand. A spokesperson said he was "deeply disappointed…at the Obama campaign's attempt to recruit thousands of out-of-state residents to come to Iowa for the caucuses."

1. Kind of OT to comment that I think it's great that Chelsea called her on it, and
it's good of Clinton to acknowledge it. I bet HER (Chelsea's) bar was set VERY high. She seems to have turned out wonderfully. As have all of the candidates' kids, come to think of it. That's really amazing.

10. stretching?
I have documentary evidence that:

(1) Hillary Clinton referred to an entire generation of young Americans as "lazy" and people who "think work is a four-letter word."

(2) Clinton approves of outsourcing the jobs that young people, who she thinks are lazy, might have filled were they available.

(3) Clinton is annoyed at the fact that students, who under IA law can register to vote, are doing so and are participating in the process.

What does that sound like to you? detached admiration????

33. LOL. Hate?
You think referring to this generation as lazy then retracting constitutes hate?

You think recognizing globalization as a reality is hate?

You think an off the cuff remark by a spokesperson looking to pile on a local and influential columnists latest screed is hate?

As far as your bizarro examples, if you think nasty stereotypes of a long oppressed minority group are equivalent to what she actually said, then you have a perspective problem.

Let's test and see.

Did the Obama campaign's ugly play on xenophobia with their Hillary D-Punjab memo constitute hate? Even though he disavowed it as hurtful?

40. Yes
calling an entire broad group of people "lazy" is hate. If it were black people it would be hate, for SURE. If it were Mexicans, it would be hate, for SURE. Why is it not hate here?

She did more than recognize globalization, she supported harmful free trade and outsourcing that take away jobs.

finally...

Punjab refers to the region of a foreign country and does not denigrate a broad social group of people. It suggests that someone cares too much about the interests of someone other than her constituents, like we might say with Bush and Saudi Arabia.

"Why is it not hate here?"

Because ageism is not equivalent to racism. If you need that explained I cannot help you.

"Punjab refers to the region of a foreign country and does not denigrate a broad social group of people. It suggests that someone cares too much about the interests of someone other than her constituents, like we might say with Bush and Saudi Arabia."

Here's Obama's characterization of his own campaign's memo.

"It was a dumb mistake on our campaign's part and I made it clear to my staff in no uncertain terms that it was a mistake," Obama told the AP in a brief interview in which he referred to the memo as "unnecessarily caustic."

the students that I teach today purposely throw their paper and other garbage on the floor so someone else can clean it up. They show little, if any, respect for teachers, principals or custodians. I know all about the terrible description of students which turned out to be a statement by Aristotle, but I quit teaching for 17 years; I clearly remember what teen-agers were like when I taught before. In comparison today's teens are disrespectful in a different manner; they have no compunction about rudeness, seemingly thinking that it is their due. More of us need to speak up. Thank you, Hillary, for telling it like it is. Without change in this future generation, we are truly doomed.

Edited on Mon Dec-03-07 08:56 PM by Lirwin2
=="Everybody knows a lot of 50, 60 and 70-year-olds that don't have good judgment, because they keep on making the same mistakes over and over again,"

Imagine if he had switched "50, 60 and 70-year-olds" to "Asians" or "Women." In this phrase, he makes a stereotypical comment against the elderly, and the MSM ignores it, of course.

http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=1356352007

Then, he moves on to trying to start a generational war with his "Baby boomers need to get over themselves" comments. So I ask again, why does Obama hate old people?

So she doesn't care about those ages 18-21 anymore. She still believes that age group is apathetic despite what her daughter said.

If she continues to treat that age group like dirt and if she wins the nomination, those same college students she needs to win in November will sit on their hands.

59. This just in: "Clinton Takes Lead among Youth"
Edited on Wed Dec-05-07 06:58 AM by Perry Logan
Barack Obama may draw crowds on college campuses, and he may be the most popular guy on Facebook, but recent poll results challenge the common assumption that he is the candidate of the young. Rather, Hillary Rodham Clinton seems to have taken the lead among 20-somethings.

A Nov. 1 survey of 400 18-to-29-year-olds showed the New York senator held a surprisingly large lead among young voters who identified themselves as Democrats. Clinton led her nearest competitors, with 54 percent, followed by her Illinois counterpart, with 24 percent, and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, with 8.4 percent.

While polls have never shown Obama with a consistent lead among young Democrats, he has generally fared better among them than among Democrats as a whole. But now pundits may need to reexamine the assumption that Obama has the youth vote wrapped up.

“For quite some time, the polling has shown the 18-to-29-year-old primary vote was about even between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, and just recently Clinton was pulling ahead,” said Kat Barr, director of research for Rock the Vote, one of the poll’s sponsors. “Young people are trending in ways similar to the overall electorate.”

60. I suggest that Darboy do an in depth examination of Hillary's...
first 20 years out of Yale Law. She specialized in the legal and other needs of children. Tons of pro-bono work and started many Childrens Groups to help all kids.

This is not a woman who 'hates' kids.

In her description of the current generation out of the box, she, in general, is describing what we all see every day. Not all kids, but a sizable group does not care about much of anything.

Yes, she also tells the truth about offshoring with both jobs and companies. It will continue--UNTIL IT IS STOPPED. Perhaps that was her meaning.

I remember some folks being super-critical of Wes Clark. Much of the reason for their dislike was based on the fact that they cannot understand complete thoughts, sentences, and so on. So it seems to be in this case.
