Edited on Tue Dec-04-07 09:53 AM by undercoverduer
This crap about Obama writing an essay in kindergarten about wanting to be president is just petty. Its a GOP style attack and it can backfire on Hillary. I'm not sure why but I feel like Hillary's digging into Obama's kindergarten essays just show how petty the Clinton camp can be. She wants to attack him and mock his politics of hope, yet she pulls this petty shit.

America is sorta getting tired of that defense. AND a mass refusal to not buy something in the spin cycle is NOT any sort of lack of humor. More likely, it is indicative of a learning curve.

Too many assumptions and failure to learn that those assumptions are foolish.

Frankly, I am not really crazy about Obama as nominee either. But, I COULD be against such stupid and petty stunts as this latest from Penn and still favor HRC. Making assumptions could be making WRONG assumptions and that doesn't help your candidate win friends and influence people.

Point is, it WAS a stupid, mean spirited snark AND that is not a good stunt for a campaign to pull. Gives much reason to doubt the judgment of the many people involved and the spinners they have on TV trying to pretend it wasn't a stupid, mean spirited snark.

They should just apologize and move on. But, no, the spinners persist and THAT is the telling point.

8. The spinners from Clinton campaign out on TV last night were pathetic
Pulling the stunts of talking over everyone else, lest anyone make an honest comment or ask a pointed question, spinning that if one is offended by bringing up elementary school essays, one is missing that they were just trying to "lighten up" the campaign rhetoric...

It all sounded so familiar.

The methods have been used to death in the past 7 years and I think America is sorta wising up to the smoke, mirrors, trying to win by framing every little topic until there is no substantive discussion.

It seems petty on the surface. Below that, it is just more bullying and it is pushing people away. The recent polls seem to bear that out.

44. I think Obama stepped this up as an attack --
--is because it resonates.

The fact is Obama HAS wanted to be President for most of his life, despite his claims otherwise.

His mask came off and he's scrambling to put it back on.

Hillary may lose the battle on this remark, but she successfully unmasked Obama's sense of ambition and entitlement.

This might not help Hillary much, but it sure will hurt Obama more.

here on the left.

Rightists think that whatever they do, whatever they do, is good simply by virtue of the fact that they're doing it. Whether it is lying to start a war that kills hundreds of thousands, or molesting children, or screaming accusations at someone else for getting a bj while they're hiding illegitimate children for a lifetime from years-long cheating affairs.

They don't care, which is kind of psychotic actually. They're good and you're bad, no matter how bad they are. And they project their sins and failures and on others as much as they can. Sound like any candidate from Illinois that you know of?

In this case Obama threw slime at Hillary, then lied about his own circumstance. Both mud and lies in one incident by Obama.

It's good that you're not afraid to point it out, cuke. In fact, we should all be pointing out how dishonest Obama truly is.

Obama's been lying since he was a little kid, the words of his own relatives and classmates prove it. And he's lying more now than ever.

67. He is a political sleaze, very much like Publicans
It was kind of hard to notice at first, how much he slimes other candidates and the Democratic party as a whole, and how dishonest he is, because at first you take him at his word, like most honest people are wont to do with new people. And you get caught up in his self-annointed 'new politics' and high-road talk. I kind of liked him at the beginning, like alot of people with the new guy.

Then things he says and does kind of make you go 'what just happened?' And you make excuses for him. And then again; and you make allowances. And a third time you cut him some slack. But it doesn't take long before you start seeing the real patterns of Obama's lack of character appearing everywhere. It's like a foundation that looks good at a distance, but then as you get closer you see it is all spider-webbed with cracks. And when you really look at it, it's ALL cracked.

Once you become aware of how he really is, all you see are the mud and the lies. I'm pretty much waiting for him not to lie now.

55. "It was just a joke" are words
of bullies and abusers.
Just like "you're being overly sensitive".

58. I'd submit
If Barack isn't able to handle a snarky jibe from Hillary, he isn't ready for Primetime yet.

. . .the Hillary camp gave him the opening.

64. Yes he handled it
--by removing even more of his mask and showing himself as a thug.

So much for the politics of Hope

ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK

Is he saying that about Hillary? Or is he using that at his morning affirmation in the bathroom mirror?

71. I've seen a lot of HRC supporters saying it was a joke TODAY,
after Mark Penn said it, but I don't recall seeing any of them say it yesterday. I saw one or two who admitted it was an over-the-top, tone-deaf attack. But what I wonder is, if it's so obviously a joke, why didn't any of them say that yesterday?

65. Obama has been a documented liar going all the way back to kindergarten
and you're projecting Obama's dishonest GOP tactics onto Hillary?

That's just too funny!

Hillary shoots straight, and this time she hit Obama dead square on one of his lies. Not that that's much harder than hitting the side of a barn.

I think that people are waking up to what a truly dishonest person Obama really is. Most of us don't have the guile and dishonesty to lie until we reach adulthood.

Obama as a 'high-road' candidate is his biggest lie yet. Planned and executed by someone who's been doing it his whole life if we are to believe any of the people in his life, and we do.

66. This isn't any sillier than when
Obama used his childhood (4-10 years old) as foreign policy experience.

They really should clean their own house before looking at Hillary.

77. And if you want a nominee with very little experience
then vote for Obama and watch him lose against the Repugs in the general election!!!

78. Tell me why you think he would lose. . .
. . .would you vote for him? Also if experience matters what is Giuliani's experience, what is Romney's expierence, what is Huckabee's experience?

79. Because I honestly think that in a general election
he has two glaring disadvantages: his wafer thin experience at the national level and his race. There are still too many people in this country who will not vote for a black man. They might not like a woman either, but these types would be comforted by the thought that at least Bill would be there to advise the little woman (barf!). It's my honest opinion, if he manages to pull off the nomination, I sincerely hope that I'm wrong but only time will tell.

P.S. I think that he would do better in the future as people would have become accustomed to seeing him run for president and he would also have some additional years of national experience under his belt.

80. Tell me how Romney, Giuliani and Huckabee have national experience?
The don't. As much as Rudy got after 9/11 his actual overblown impact was local.
