Teen vowing not to be a Republican raises funds for Hillary Clinton
Edited on Tue Dec-04-07 12:57 PM by brooklynite
From the Dallas Morning News

A teen whose father denied him college tuition because he would not become a Republican now is raising funds for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Teddy Gambordella Teddy Gambordella, 19, who launched a Web site in 2006 to raise money for college, has tweaked it not only to raise funds for his own education but also to generate up to $125,000 for the Clinton campaign.

Mr. Gambordella, a freshman at Brookhaven Community College in Dallas, said splitting the funds will allow his fans to invest in him and the presidential candidate. “Half of it would be for the better of the country now and half of it would be for the better of the country’s future,” he said.

...snip...

“I can’t support his college education when he is going to act like that,” the elder Gambordella said. “He’s going to outgrow it. I hope he does.”

8. Seems like he chose the candidate closest to a Repug anyway! Whats up with that?
And isn't the kid displaying typical Repug values by using the campaign to benefit themselves as part of the deal? Nothing altruistic here.

10. maybe you should read a little slower next time
the article clearly states "Teddy Gambordella, 19, who launched a Web site in 2006 to raise money for college, has tweaked it not only to raise funds for his own education but also to generate up to $125,000 for the Clinton campaign." He started the site originally to raise money for college THEN added a fundraiser for Hillary.

11. That's doesn't matter.
Saracat has called people like McGovern senile for endorsing Hillary. Castigated Hillary for having her bday party during the CA wildfires.

Now some kid who tells his GOP father to stuff it is the subject of her ire.

13. don't bother. when everything is filtered through a lens of hate
it's pointless to try and correct someone's interpretation of facts.

24. Not necessary.I am just saying the kid chose the least Democratic of the candidates and wether
before or after posting the plea, the kid is still piggybacking on Hillary as a "gimmick".That is my opinion.Kid is "tweaking" to get more attention IMHO. Whatever.

31. Least Democratic how?
Because the only way I see that she is the "least Democratic" is because you don't like her. You are not the arbiter of who is Democratic and who isn't.

32. No. She is , IMHO." least Democratic" because of her Kyl/Lieberman vote
and her continued support of the war as well as her support of lobbyists and corporations and outsourcing. Those do not reflect "Democratic ideals" to me.She is considered by many to be the Dem candidate most in line with GOP fundamentals. She herself has stated she appreciated the "Republican values" of hard work and integrity, and self responsibility,(Her words, not mine)that were instilled in her by her parents. There are some principles that I view as more "Democratic" than others and by that view, Hillary is, in comparison with all our other candidates, the "least Democratic".

22. What an ASS.
My kid doesn't share my political views, so I won't pay for his education?
Having his own views is "acting like that"?

Jeez, my parents and I don't agree on ANYTHING politically, but they helped pay for my education, and they've supported me making up my own mind and becoming my own person.

Like someone else said, Republican Family Values at work again - how in the HELL did they manage to claim that???

is contingent on Teddy's political affiliation????? What a sorry excuse of a man!!! He doesn't deserve to be called "father". Truly disgusting!!!
