Senator Edwards on President Bush's Remarks on Iran
Senator Edwards on President Bush's Remarks on Iran

12/04/2007 at 12:14 PM EST

Today, Senator John Edwards released the following statement:

"Just a couple of months ago, George Bush was telling us Iran was about to start World War III. Today - even after his own government just said that Iran stopped its program in 2003 and is no longer pursuing nuclear weapons - Bush still refuses to back down from his outrageous rhetoric.

"Enough is enough. At long last, the spin and the saber-rattling must stop. We must once and for all reject the failed, bellicose, neoconservative foreign policy of the Bush Administration, and get back to the foreign policy I have proposed based on diplomacy, reengagement, and restoring the moral authority of America."

1. Short, sweet, and 100% accurate.
Bush just needs to give it up. Crawford is waiting for him. Go home early, George. Do us and the rest of the world a favor and just go home.

2. That and
Biden saying if they attack Iran Bush would face impeachment.

Meanwhile the press is almost whining for their drumbeat campaign that just fizzled.

3. Will somebody..anybody, Please
call the men in the white coats and get this jerk-off outta here. If we had a Free Press instead of m$$$$m do you think this would be allowed to stand?

I can only imagine the restraint that a man like John Edwards has to use when they are so close to all of this.

4. I don't understand why Edwards isn't at the front of the pack in
the polls. He is clearly ahead of the other candidates with regard to addressing the issues that face most Americans.

newspapers sell better if Obama and Hillary are assailing each other. It makes for better tv too.

8. That is a question for the corporate media.
They will only push the candidates that serve their interests. Just a Howard Dean was destroyed in '04, so is Edwards being ignored on '08.

After reading Assault on Reason, I understand why Gore will not run (and I really wanted him to run). He controls the climate change issue right now. CMC has to go TO him to get an expert opinion.

In a campaign, any candidate has to go to CMC. CMC can distort and fabricate the policies or decide 'earth tones' aren't fashionable or a 'scream' is a sign of unelectabilty. Edwards is not being controlled by CMC so he gets no face time and his message is not talked about

9. Do you think that the media will succeed in smashing his run for
the Presidency or will he somehow prevail? And would the American people have enough sense to recognize his capabilities?

11. Yes, sadly, I do believe CMC will
destroy his candidacy. One of the most important lessons I learned in '04 was what happen to Howard Dean. I was/am a true Deaniac. His spontaneity and willingness to answer questions w/o parsing every word sold me early on. After 'the scream', 'electability' became the CMC's buzzword - overnight it seemed. Observing what happened, I said to myself....'Now, I get it'....no matter how much you want to believe that 'the people' have a voice and that voice will prevail, if CMC isn't on board, it will not happen. Because of this realization, I only work for local progressive candidates now. I contribute sparingly to national presidential campaigns. I have sent Edwards $$$$ & am a DNC 'Bond' contributor (because I believe in what Dean is doing.)But no money to DCCC or DSCC (I contribute to Boxer directly) - none of that money EVER comes back to this district.

I knew Kerry would not be elected. I hoped that * would be booted. But I watched the CMC. The race was always close - a toss-up - the poll numbers close...the suspense building. It had to be that way in order for the neo-cons to steal it again. I was fearful that w/ the recall of Davis and installation of steroid boy, as well as the smear campaign against then SoS Kevin Shelly(D) (his resignation & installation of a publican SoS) the plan was to steal California. But right before election day, I figured it would be stolen in either Pennsylvania or Ohio, as strange doings were being reported in both states.

What happened to Howard Dean's campaign opened my eyes.

12. I can't argue with your good logic. I think you have figured the
system out.

I'm not joking when I suggest that something, (and I have no idea what) is decreasing the average Amer ian's IQ. And it that is the case, it might be the answer to why we Americans seemed so hell bent on self-destruction.
