This is what a debate should sound like.
I just had to say that. Honestly, I don't see why TV can't do it as well.

3. I find radio much more powerful
with such presentations. I'd rather listen to a football or baseball game on the radio then watch it on TV. The debate certainly does sound good. And everybody's getting a chance to talk.

4. Me too! I find radio concentrate one's attention to what people are
saying. This is so much better than the one TV "debate" I've seen.

6. Back in the day of "radio only" and before tv, it just seems like it
was more civilized. Language, speech, articulation was at it finest, speech was all the listener had. No distractions. Good post cali, thank you.

7. thank you. I just find this such a relief
none of the MSM hooplah. We actually get substance. And we deserve that.

You can tell more about how you feel about the candidates by how you react to their voices, I find. Like I pay more attention and feel more trusting when I hear Biden, for example. I glaze over and lose focus when I hear Edwards, in spite of myself. I guess it has something to do with speaking styles.

Obama sounds just like a professor in a lecture hall--which isn't a bad thing.

11. good analysis
probably because I agree with you. I also really like listening to Kucinich- though I wish he wouldn't speak so fast. I suppose he's gotten used to having to do that because he gets so little time on the MSM debates.

21. I wish Kuch would stop talking so much about himself
and more about the issues--like explain them further than the first sound bite. It seems like bragging the way he does it--and of course the others do it too. But there are good and bad ways to let people know what you've done and what you know.

The other TeeVee debates can't even be compared.

I'm glad Gravel was included too. His voice needs to be heard.

It's what they say on real policy questions that I need. And I hate the stupid audience thing.

19. The 2003 Iowa radio debate was the best of the season as well
Different format, though. Allowed for the candidates to go at each other a little more. This one may have been even better.

22. I agree .TV can't do it because
dog and pony shows are their bread and butter. I say leave the audience behind , put all debates on public television and use moderators who aren't there to boost their own careers. k&r
