Poll question: I got Mrs. NewHampster a ticket to see Oprah this weekend
Edited on Fri Dec-07-07 01:53 PM by NewHampster
Oprah is doing some sort of Irish Drama at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH

My wife had to pledge to do 4 hours of work for one of the campaigns in the NH Primary.

But late last night we got a cryptic phone message saying they were unable to find enough people to pledge 4 hours and would be giving away the tickets this morning first come first served at the Drama workshop HQ in Derry.

Me being a huge fan of Oprah's went with some acquaintances and snatched up a half dozen of these precious seats.

But it turns out we won't be able to attend, and really don't want to. We promised not to give the tickets away.

The poll: Should I...

1. Give them to some of Fred Thompson's peeps
They've got nothing to do.

7. Yep 4 hours but everyone does that
we had a potluck dinner with Hillary and 200 volunteers who had to write 10 postcards or make 5 calls as the entry fee.

typical of campaigns and I don't hold it against them, I just find it hilarious that they couldn't sell all the tickets.

13. They aren't selling the tickets. They are free. It isn't a fundraiser, just a rally
but they are held in large arenas - in South Carolina - moved to the football stadium.

11. Only to get reserved tickets. You could still get tickets without promising to volunteer
but they wouldn't be in the area reserved for the campaign volunteers.

15. I assume they are giving the volunteers good spots. I know, that is terrible of them.
They should stick the volunteers in the balconies.:eyes:

5. Give them to someone who wants to see Oprah. Screw the politics.
We know DAMN well that Oprah won't be back to New Hampshire any time soon after this political season is over. Maybe four years from now, but this is pretty much it, I'll bet.

I say put politics aside, and if you know someone who likes her, wants to see her, and can go, give them the tickets.

I don't understand the attraction, myself, but for those that do, I guess it's something else. The odd time I've seen the show, when she tells people to look under their seats for the wonderful gifts, I look, and there's nothing under my seat!! Lyin' basssstids!!!

6. Why can't you give them away of you can't make it?
Is that the way these things normally work? It's very weird. And now I have to go find out what sort of "Irish Drama" they are doing. Theatre? I'm very confused. :D

14. Hmmm...I used to teach about the theatre spectacle and politics used in WWII
I'm not crazy about seeing them mixed by anyone, other than in the most basic ways.
Bet it will be a great show though!

23. How on earth did I miss that?!
Snooze and you lose, I guess I must've been working at the time, dammit. Anyway, it's too late to respond, because the mods were only doing their job, so I'll have to figure out another way to get even with you, dammit, now that that song is stuck in my head again like a broken record. In the meantime, all I have to say to you is.....FELIZ NAVIDAD!
