42. Dontcha know?...
OPRAH IS GOD (to most women who watch her show)!! If the majority of voters follow what Oprah says, then we're in a very sad, sorry state indeed...we're people who cannot think for ourselves...All we need now is for Britney to campaign for Girlie-ani!...

4. I donno
When Oprah put herself out there she can expect her 'other' words to come back to haunt both her and her candidate. Especially when those words are so readily available on tape.

But it's been some really nasty comments made that have no basis in fact or her words.

30. No, the other campaigns would know not to allow oprah to
over shadow their candidate. Now, of this weekend can anyone remember anything obama said? Can you recall something oprah said?

I can and when she became messianic in her support of obama I knew folks would have a problem with that....This " he is the one" said by oprah is a follow up to what mrs obama said several weeks back that black folks would wake up and get it. Oprah verified it when she was speaking and told the audience "he is the one".Basically telling the african americans to vote for obama because he is black. Oprah knows better then to tell someone to vote for this person or that person based on race. That is racist and also stupid.

40. OMG! AGAIN with the "Michelle said Black people should vote for Barack because he's Black"???
Edited on Tue Dec-11-07 02:05 PM by jenmito
I'll post this to you for the FOURTH time:

You keep saying Michelle Obama said Black people should vote for her husband just because they're Black. But that's NOT what she said. She was asked about a middle-aged Black woman who said she likes Obama, and would LIKE to vote for him, but she probably won't because she doesn't think a Black person could win the presidency. Michelle was talking about that woman and other Black people who felt the same way. She did NOT say Black people should vote for Obama because he's Black. I'm sure Oprah feels the same way. She SAID as much-not to be AFRAID to vote for him because you think he, as a Black man, can't win. And there have been other Black people running for president. She obviously wasn't inspired by them. She's inspired by Obama. Deal with it.

5. Oprah just can't help being in the center of the media
She's like Elizabeth Taylor who always wants to be in the picture and discussion. Oprah have political ambitions? Or just asked to hype a fellow Black globalist who can't win as President but for VP? He was slipping in the polls because of his politics not his color? Or is Oprah just a self centered rich person now who panders to the Neo Cons?

I have not watched or listened to Oprah since she had Arnold "Swartzengunner" on her program. Her programs were just too "weepy" for me. I consider myself a compassionate person but she goes a bit over the edge..and profits off it.

9. It seems like if you trash
the endorser who's supporting the candidate who is against your's then that makes your candidate better.

Barbra is supporting hillary and I still love Barbra. And Oprah for sure isn't perfect but some people evolve no matter how much others don't.

And I'm leaning towards Edwards..and I don't want anyone to get on and say how "he's trying to fool people" cause you'd just be talkin' shit.

...Oprah fans don't seem to mind when she tells them what to read. Maybe they like it when she tells them how to vote. That kind of thing rubs me the wrong way, but that's me.

That said, she can come out for Obama all she wants. Good for her! If it gets her fans to vote Democrat, all the better!

I don't care for her and have never ever watched her. Even when she had the local show in Baltimore. But there are people who do...they want the gifts. And there are a hell of lot of people in this country that DON'T LIKE HER. She doesn't interest me either way...but I do believe she wants something from Obama....we kiddingly say VP but I thing she wants to wrangle some kind of big shot role. Because I have never read anywhere where she does something with out getting something back.

25. I've never been an Oprah groupie, I can take her or leave her,
but how come she never thought of supporting any other Democrat in previous elections? Where was she when Gore and Kerry could have used her help?

I think the whole thing is over-hyped and in the various blogs the comments are almost equally as much against her involvement as they are for it. Fairly or not, a lot of people question if she pulled the race card and would have supported Obama if he had been the same person but white. Granted, that they would have said something similar if she had supported Hillary and would question whether she pulled the gender card.

Either way, NO celebrity should have enough power to change the political discourse of the nation. I certainly hope that people vote for whichever candidate represents their beliefs and not because Oprah endorsed that individual.

44. You missed something on the Angelou thread, it was parody.
The OP and the repliers who "got it" were all having fun using the attacks that originated in the GDP's Oprah-hatefest this weekend and replacing Angelou for Oprah.
Sorry if you didn't get the joke. The anti-Oprah attacks that were being the basis of this parody were from a couple users who have been tombstoned, so it's quite possible you had the original posts ignored and never saw them.

As for Clark and McGovern, I don't know about those, I didn't see them, so I won't defend or deny.
