Shaking in their boots: Joe Trippi on Republicans' fear of Edwards
Got this fundraising email for Edwards yesterday. Thought I'd share it.
----

http://johnedwards.com/watch/shaking/

Dear John,

"The one that scares me is Edwards. Edwards is the one that scares me the most." That's what a senior Republican strategist said on MSNBC earlier today.

He's right to be scared -- Republicans everywhere should be. Because John Edwards is the best Democrat to beat any Republican in November next year. You know it, I know it -- but we need your help to make sure the rest of America knows it too.

(...)

Don't just take my word for it. A poll that came out today from CNN shows that John Edwards performs the best of any Democratic candidate against each of the leading Republicans.

According to the polling director for CNN, John is the only Democrat who beats all four of the leading Republicans. In one-on-one match-ups, John Edwards beats Mike Huckabee by 25 percent, Mitt Romney by 22 percent, John McCain by eight percent and Rudy Giuliani by 11 percent.

(...)

Thanks for all you do.

1. LOL ...
They're so scared of me ... that's the last refuge of a scoundrel. I'll bet they're really scared of that "Main Street Express" coming toot-toot-tooting down the road.

2. I saw this *live* w/Russert yesterday.....
The GOP strategist feared "Edwards" the most and the Dem Strategist, "McCain". Only because they were both the most likeable candidates of each party.

For the first time, I realized, that's what's going to appeal to the 99% of the voters who don't politcal blog/watch cable news

Go Edwards :)

3. Edwards is the only candidate I hear Dems in
my town talking about. And the talk is all good.

4. Edwards is the most likely to...
Donning my tinfoil hat :tinfoilhat: and feeling a bit :scared:

Edwards seems to me the most likely of our candidates to meet up with a "lone gunman" because he is probably the one that most scares the military-industrial-fascist-corporatist complex.

5. Edwards , is the best in all ways
We are tired of a military complex, he is for Unions and othre things for everyday ordinary people, he remindes me so much of Jack Kennedy, when people complain about his wealth that he earned himself I would like to inform them that the President we most admire was a wealthy man and that man is John F. Kennedy... I read something a few weeks ago, can't remember where.Someone in his office said he became angry and said I am going to bring the boys home and stop the war, in two week the man was gone shot down on a Texas Street Parade...Forgot the mention another wealthy president FDR.and he worked his full time in the White House cleaning up republican mess left by Harding , Coolidge and Hoover, won a war,he fed the hungry people , created jobs and led this nation back to it greatness, we might say without FDR.,we could be speaking German.

6. Doesn't the thought of an Edwards
administration bring you hope? I know it does me - for the life of me, I don't understand the snake oil salesman comparison, but I'm thinking it has to do with the fact he is a southerner and there may be a prejudice against that. I don't understand it, I have lived from Virginia (right outside of DC) to all the way down to New Orleans and as for Edwards being a southerner, he's about in the middle of the spectrum. I trust him, and listening to him speak gives me hope for the future.

8. You aren't the only one whose thought that
Also saw something similar from another Du'er today on that.

Look I don't think "they" would let Edwards near the White House. I don't believe in free elections anymore. So I enjoy this drama in this forum because it's all nonsense. Hillary has been selected by the right and the DLC left. If the Repugs can't find anyone that they can sell-and between the clown of Huckabee and Mitt's Mormon problem, not to mention Guiliani's mistress and corruption problems;well they don't have anyone really. So they know Hillary will play ball if they don't have a rightie, so all is good. Plus we can continue the charade of a "two party" system while nothing changes and the military industrial sham can go on the same as it ever was.

But Edwards-he has stated he will not play their reindeer games anymore, so I know the propaganda is and has been heaviest from the right and the DLC left against him. It will be interesting to watch.

7. Funny how they believe the Rethug when
he says something good about Edwards.

If he had said he was afraid of Hillary, would they believe it?
