Hillary's supporters are growing more and more shrill as desperation grows...
Edited on Fri Dec-14-07 11:14 AM by Wolsh
Hilliary's supporters are getting desperate and frustrated. Look at the amount of unsubstatiated charges that are going around concerning other cadidates. More importantly look at all the EXCUSES starting to creep in to explain away the falling star that is Hillary Clinton.

So far today, we've heard Clinton is going to lose Iowa because:

* The MSM hates her!! (never mind that the MSM loved her before it became clear she just wans't running a good campaign)
* Iowa doesn't matter, MI will be her firewall! (never mind that she's the only person on the ballot in MI)
* Iowa doesn't matter because Obama is bringing in students from out of state (never mind these students live in Iowa and legally have the right to vote)

Hillary's fans are also resorting to the GWB fear factor tactic with gems like these:

* Obama is BLACK!!!!! and can't win in November.
* The media is about to take down Obama (never mind he's running a smart campaign)

The deseperation is just reeking on this board today. If the above is the best excuses Hillary and her team can come up with, its going to be a long, long, New Year.

1. So... by your logic... Clinton is going to lose Iowa because...
"* Obama is BLACK!!!!! and can't win in November.
* The media is about to take down Obama (never mind he's running a smart campaign)"

4. Welcome to politics. It's certainly not just Hillary's supporters.
This place is swimming in hyperbole, and Hillary supporters are certainly not the only source.

The front page of what? DU?
Perhaps you should take a look yourself. I don't see a single story on the front page of DU that is representative of what you claim.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/

In fact, the only items currently on that page with "Hillary" in the title are anti-Hillary posts.

If you're going to make a claim, at least base it in some form of reality.

10. Don't forget the classic lines...
"Obama started the mud-slinging" and,

"Obama is the one who brought it out in the first place." (Nevermind this was done in 1995 and he's been talking about it openly ever since to stop other kids from engaging in drug use.)

Nationally: (Please ignore. Nationals don't count).

12/14/07

Clinton 38

Obama 27

Edwards 14

Iowa:

Survey of 1,106 Likely Dem Caucus Participants
December 10, 2007

Iowa Caucus

Hillary Clinton 29% Barack Obama 26% John Edwards 22%

Edit: I forgot this: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2007/12/14/sc-poll-huckabee-bolts-to-top-of-gop-obama-cuts-into-clinton-lead/

The poll of Democratic primary voters (South Carolina) showed Clinton leading with 42 percent, Obama second at 34 percent and former Sen. John Edwards third with 16 percent.

The remaining Democrats were at 3 percent or less.

The poll's sampling error is plus or minus 4.5 for Democratic primary voters.

Obama, who moved up 7 points since the July poll, was helped by increased support among black voters.

While in July, 33 percent of African-American Democrats said they would vote for Obama, he now has 45 percent of their support compared to Clinton's 46 percent.

Yeah, desperation.....

12. Not on this place it is the Obama supporter who have bashed
and posting sometimes horrible suff, like her killing cats. They are the ones who are messing their pants. Since Obama's support is mostly from the black population, seems he is sunk. There are enough black people in this country to elect him...CNN posted a nationwide poll, especially from South Carolina and noted that the black population is where Obama's support comes from....

13. I don't know who is shrill and/or desperate but
Hillary annoys the living shit out of me. She doesn't seem to react well to Obama's little digs, which is a concern because the crap she's getting now is tame compared to what the repukes will throw at her in the general election campaign. If she gets knocked off her game this easily, is she as "tough" as she'd like us to believe?

Nevertheless, I fully intend to support her in the event she becomes the party's candidate.

14. Study of positive & negative coverage of candidates
THE INVISIBLE PRIMARY—INVISIBLE NO LONGER
A First Look at Coverage of the 2008 Presidential Campaign
October 29, 2007

A study by the Project for Excellence in Journalism and the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy

In the early months of the 2008 presidential campaign, the media had already winnowed the race to mostly five candidates and offered Americans relatively little information about their records or what they would do if elected, according to a comprehensive new study of the election coverage across the media.
The press also gave some candidates measurably more favorable coverage than others. Democrat Barack Obama, the junior Senator from Illinois, enjoyed by far the most positive treatment of the major candidates during the first five months of the year—followed closely by Fred Thompson, the actor who at the time was only considering running. Arizona Senator John McCain received the most negative coverage—much worse than his main GOP rivals.

21. Actually, Hillary is not the only Dem on the Michigan ballot...
Dennis was preparing his paperwork but did not get it completed in time to be pulled off the ballot.

If ya want to be president, then you have to be on the ballot. The boycott was a serious mistake on the part of the DNC.

Hillary wants to be president, so she stayed on the ballot.

Dennis is on the ballot because he doesn't know what he is doing.

29. Let's not lie, Obama's colour is going to matter
Like it or not, Obama's ethnicity is going to make a difference to some people. I guess the question is whether America has moved on enough that the people it will matter to are a small enough number not to matter. I'm a Brit so I couldn't say.

a lot of similar things when Dean and Kerry campaigns had severe setbacks. A little compassion is in order and a little help looking into the group mirror. What does it say about the real strengths and values of the supporters, even more than the candidates? Who really is pulling the negative strings? The Bush tools, the strings, the mouthpieces. Just calm it down.
