How is Lieberman's endorsement of McCain different from Biden endorsement of McCain as Kerry's VP?
Biden's statements on "Hardball" on March 16, 2004:

"I think that this is time for unity in this country, and maybe it is time to have a guy like John McCain — a Republican — on the ticket with a guy he {Kerry} does like. They do get along. And they don't have fundamental disagreements on major policies."

How can Biden supporters get all uptight about Lieberman endorsing McCain when Biden endorsed McCain as Kerry's potential running mate?

2. Somebody should probably ask him if he's changed his mind.

If he thought that McCain would be a good running mate for Kerry, how about for himself?

12. Big difference. Biden wanted a Democratic President
Lieberman wants a Republican one.

6. Biden gets a totally free pass, but Kucinich got a rash of shit because someone asked if he'd
consider Paul as a running mate, and Kucinich had the audacity to indicate that he had an open mind about it, and now they are ripping off Lieberman's head and crapping down his throat because he endorsed McCain.

I just don't get it.

5. Because at least a Democrat would have been at the top
of the ticket.

Oh, and we've lived through three more years of the crappiest administration ever. And because bipartisanship has to work both ways. And because people now realize that Bush has so completely sullied the waters of what used to be the GOP with his own shit that bipartisanship of this sort is now impossible. And because Biden's not a DINO. And because Biden wasn't rejected by the primary voters of his own party in his state, and because Biden didn't then do an end run around the primary process by running as an Independent, effectively taking a second bite at the electoral apple and completely disrespecting the party for which he had once stood as the vice presidential nominee.

Other than that, it's completely the same.

8. Fallacious. Your spin assumes facts not in evidence. First, Biden's comment hardly constitutes an
"endorsement." Second, I do not see a mob of Bidenites frothing at the mouth over Lieberman's express endorsement of McCain. Nor have I seen DU Biden supporters, or Bidenites, generally, fouling DK's campaign over his comment concerning RP. If you could show me any substantial evidence in the record (evidence which would lead a reasonable person to conclude your version of the facts is reality)to support your position, I would of course wipe the egg off my face. Otherwise, have my napkin.

9. That was before McCain shit all over Kerry
and before it became abundantly clear McCain wasn't going to be reasonable about Iraq and war policy either. I don't think Biden would say that today.

10. I don't know... Biden has an addiction to calling for a bi-partisan approach to everything. This
strategy is NOT serving us well in Congress.
