Rasmussen daily graph for 12/17/07 - All three unchanged
That's quite unusual.

(Pretend that the 10 and 20 lines are actually 0. Does anyone know how to make Excel label different parts of the axis differently?)

1. I don't trust Rasmussen
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Rasmussen

Rasmussen has pioneered the use of automated technology to conduct public opinion polling and developed new research techniques to not only measure current public opinion but also to gain better understanding of what events or actions actually change public opinion. Some traditional pollsters are skeptical of this methodology and prefer traditional, operator-assisted polling techniques.

Scott Rasmussen is an Evangelical Christian and is currently president of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, a not-for-profit corporation with historic ties to the Methodist Church and the Wesleyan tradition. The Camp Meeting founded the town of Ocean Grove, New Jersey in 1869 and maintains a Christian seaside resort community providing opportunities for spiritual birth, growth, and renewal. His slogan for the 2006 Annual Camp Meeting was 'In the Redemption Business.' The town is a national historic site. There is some controversy over the OGCMA's new policies under Scott's leadership. In particular, the OGCMA has ratified Scott's controversial policy that no same-sex civil unions will be permitted on OGCMA property. This ruling has caused public protest within the community and action to be taken by local gay and lesbian groups through the New Jersey court system.

2. Does Rasmussen just poll land lines?
In that case, this poll underestimates young people with cell phones who are likely NOT Hillary supporters.

5. Good question
The answer may be somewhere on the Rasmussen site. I haven't looked for that info.

I've said before that I don't know how accurate the Ras poll is, but it's the only that publishes numbers every day. Therefore, and assuming that whatever bias it has is constant over time, any trends it shows should be paid attention to.

3. Your poll is not up to date.
Try the newest one just out.

At the Dec 13 date, Hillary is tending up. Obama is flat.

BTW: how do you copy those polls fro RCP?

4. Of course it's up to date. It's the current Rasmussen daily numbers.
I have a spreadsheet into which I put the numbers every day. The graphs are generated from those numbers.

6. David, I really appreciate your work...
But there are newer numbers and there is a new graph at RCP with what looks like dates up to the 16th of December.

Please keep posting your graphs. I certainly appreciate them.

7. That site has Rasmussen's numbers at 40/27/13
Those were the numbers for both yesterday and today, and that's what I have on my graph. What am I missing?

8. Your first graph does not look like the most recent RCP graph at my link.
Your trend lines are not reflective of changes in the last 10 days.

I am unable to copy and paste that graph from RCP but I am trying to do so. I could show you more easily than describing the differences.

You are probably using good statistical techniques but they do not reflect the actual happenings of the last 10 days.

9. Oh, the trend lines
Well, I wouldn't bet on my using good statistical techniques. I'm just guessing as to what's a good choice. I've played around with different kinds of trend lines and recently shortened the range involved, but it's still probably too long.

I'm using the numbers back to the beginning of September, but that probably makes the trends pretty meaningless. I'll try a shorter range, possibly 10 days, before I upload the graphs tomorrow.
