The Clintons and Boltin’ Joe Lieberman go back a long way, so we were curious to know what Bill thought about Joe Lieberman, a self-declared Democratic Independent, endorsing for President Republican John McCain, who happens to be the only GOP opponent to beat Hillary in a recent CNN poll. Clinton said he wasn’t surprised by his old pal.
“I think they both
agree that the most important thing that’s happened the last seven years is Iraq and that it was more important than Afghanistan, and Osama Bin Laden, and 9/11, and getting the leadership of al Qaeda after 9/11. I disagree,” Clinton answered during a walkabout in a Hy-Vee supermarket in Des Moines this morning.
“I think most of our Democrats disagree, but both of them seem to really believe that. It doesn’t surprise me at all – I’ve known him 30 years. It doesn’t surprise me.”
