"Their power is NOTHING, compared to the sovereign power of the people."
Wow. This is what John Edwards said to Chris Matthews in NH when Matthews asked him how he's going to deal with all those powerful corporate interests, i.e., the drug companies, the insurance companies, the oil companies, etc.

I've supported John Edwards since 2004, but this man just continues to increase my respect and admiration for him. He is fearless and he is going to be one amazing President.

GO, JOHN, GO!!!!

2. Amen, 8643... love your sig btw
This guy is the real deal. The folks that are up close and personal in the campaign are just blown away by him. He's the same on camera as off. Both he and Elizabeth. And what a great two-fer deal is that?

In my opinion, there is NO other candidate that compares.

4. It sounds so good please let me repeat it:
Their power is NOTHING, compared to the sovereign power of the people - John Edwards

Compare that lofty ideal to the quote from the sold out someone who said that lobbyists are people too!

HRC's comment sounds just as lame as John Edwards' is noble.

9. it's been a long time since "the people" won any sort of power struggle --
i wish i could believe what he says, but, i'm feeling like Charlie Brown having the football yanked away consistently for 20-odd years.

For "their power" to be "NOTHING compared to the sovereign power of the people," we need leaders of character and principle to act in our interest. Edwards is that in spades.

I've always thought he'd take Iowa and now that other people are starting to agree, i'm getting nervous. can he kick this ball thru the posts?

10. When was the last time anyone remembers -
a candidate daring to say words like these? It's like the warmth of a fire on a cold lonely night, to hear this True Progressive Poetry.

19. True, but only for a people that has not been propagandized
into submission by a privately owned press with special interests, (like Fox News), whose sole purpose is to promote and spread fascism.

I sincerely hope that either Dennis Kucinich or John Edwards is elected Prez in '08.

"Their power is NOTHING, compared to the sovereign power of the people."

- John Edwards to Chris Matthews

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

If he injected that sentence into *every damn speech he gives* between now and next November, I wouldn't complain a bit!

He needs to keep repeating it until every American hears...
