Between Edwards, Obama, and Hillary, Edwards has by far the most progressive health care plan
that uses market forces against private for-profit insurers which will have to compete with the non-profit public sector and this will ultimately lead to a public universal single payer system, the most progressive pro-labor and pro-universal-access-to-education and pro-living-wage-for-working families plan to fight poverty, the most progressive plan to restore equity to the tax system, the most progressive trade and labor plans, the most progressive response to the mortgage and broader predatory lending crises, and the most progressive plan to restore and promote the American values of an equal right to civil liberties and economic justice abroad.

That's just a few reasons why Edwards is the most progressive choice between Hillary, Obama, and Edwards.

Dennis Kucinich's platform is even more progressive, and I dearly wish it was viable, but if we can't elect Kucinich, we need to get behind the next most progressive alternative.

1. In my mind, Edwards (and Dodd, too) are overtaking Kucinich as favorites

3. Edwards is the most progressive of the top three, but he may be the most populist of the whole field

9. I probably should have said "populist progressive" instead of "progressive."

8. Sign me up to if there is a movement to pass HR 676 (Kucinich's universal Medicare plan) but Edwards
has the next best plan is we can't pass HR 676 which has languished in the House.

11. You're absolutely correct. Edwards' plan will result in single payer ..
because, with a choice, people will see how superior single payer is to private health insurance.

7. I agree completely.
I am a Kucinich supporter, but can proudly vote for Edwards due to his electability.

The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those
who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.

15. Edwards med plan cuts out the middle man HMO's which has been the cause
of the high medical bills. As I understand it, his plan is direct payer, no HMO. What is interesting is, similarly, a lot of doctors are now refusing to take anything but straight Medicare meaning the doctors themselves are forcing out the HMO's by bypassing them. With Medicare all these HMO's are after you to sign up with them = decreasing the doctor's share of money and forcing doctors not to practice good medicine. I say good for the doctors who have caught on. Now if we can just get Edwards into office to finish the greedy HMO's off.
