4. Carville was saying Hillary didn't need Iowa 4 months ago.
He knew then Hillary would lose Iowa and was already doing damage control. The media spin afterwards is as important as who wins.

5. What I find disturbing that to point out the ludicrousness of this statement,
the point is made that he has raised $78 million. It again brings it home to me that it's all about the money, and I find that shameful in America that's what electing our President has come to.

6. Money isn't everything in a campaign
If Obama doesn't win Iowa he is done regardless of how much he has raised and I am a total Obama supporter. If Hillary doesn't win Iowa it will be embarrassing for her but she is still competitive because of the clout of the Clinton political machine.

7. Actually, the pundits said that Obama and Edwards HAD to win Iowa
And Clinton does not. But, the pundits are creating news and I never believe a thing they say.

Hey Bigdarryl: why do you use a slur when talking about the democratic candidates?

8. I heard them say Edwards is definitely done if he doesn't win Iowa and Obama's "in trouble"
Edited on Wed Dec-19-07 11:43 PM by jenmito
if he loses to Hillary. But if he loses only to Edwards he'll be able to continue.

9. He should stick around to Feb. 5th
Regardless of how he, or the others do in Iowa and in New Hampshire, they should stick round to let voters in the bigger states have their say.

It is ridiculous that 125,000 Iowa Democrats will determine the outcome of the elections.

11. If Hillary wins Iowa, Obama isn't "done" in the sense that he's going run out of money and have to
drop out.

He's just done in the sense that he's not going to win. Obama doesn't have to win Iowa, he just has to make sure Hillary doesn't win Iowa.

Fortunately, Hillary is probably 70% likely NOT to win Iowa.

But IF Hillary DOES win Iowa, she will go into New Hampshire with strong momentum. She's already leading Obama by about 6% in New Hampshire so a win in Iowa would only likely expand that lead. So if Hillary wins Iowa, she'll likely win New Hampshire, too.

If Hillary wins Iowa and New Hampshire, does it look like Obama will catch Hillary in Nevada?

If Hillary wins Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada, does it look like Obama will catch Hillary in South Carolina or Florida?

If Obama cannot catch her in these early states, it doesn't look any better in the rest of the nation where Hillary is about 17% ahead of Obama.

On the other hand, Obama really could beat her in Iowa:

Clearly, Iowa is Obama's best chance of killing Hillary's momentum.

If not there, where?
