2. What confounds me...
I saw both Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt at HUGE anti-war rallies in SF and LA where they sang their hearts out against the upcoming Iraq War, while at the same time in Washington DC, John Edwards was speaking hawkishly about going to war and was a co-sponsor of the Iraq War Resolution, the very reason why Bush was given a free pass to go to war.

Not only that, but Edwards was also on the Senate Intelligence Committee at the time the war was being drummed up and he clearly should have known the bogus intelligence reports were there.

Sure, we got an apology from Mr. Edwards. For me, however, that will never be enough. Trillions of dollars wasted, rivers of blood and countless innocent lives lost is not something you just wipe away with an apology and a smile.

Browne and Raitt have lost a lot of credibility with me on this. As a songwriter myself, I'm thinking about writing a song for them to listen to called "Once, I Used to Stand for Something".

I'll listen to the interview and wish the best of luck on the Edwards campaign, but this deeply troubles me.

Flame me for all I care...just like Bush did to the Iraqi children...

3. I don't forgive him for that either, but he's changed.
He realized his error in judgement in voting for IWR. He's a politician, but one who has become the progressive candidate in 2008, after Kucinich of course.

Ralph Nader likes Kucinich most, but of the top tier candidates, he said that if Edwards maintains his progressive/anticorporate message, then he'll support him. Edwards is the only top candidate speaking out against the corporations, the pharmaceutical companies. That resonates with me and I think others will get pulled in as the economy withers over the next few months, when the results of all of the job outsourcing, NAFTA economics, the corporate rape of America become clearer. At that point, we're going to need a populist to build the country back. Really we need an FDR, but I'll settle for Edwards.

4. Evidently Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne
understand that Edwards sees this issue more clearly now.

5. Have they ever talked about it?
Listen, I respect in total and in general Bonnie, Jackson and John. I just find it a little odd...

6. I don't know if they've talked about it.
But the alternative would be that they think Edwards hasn't truly changed on this issue and they support the war alongside him, but I can't see that being so.

7. I believe they aren't dummies, and are very informed and wise people.

8. They are extremely informed, and Jackson probably does
more benefits than he does money-making concerts. I am a huge fan, and have been for 30 years. He appears to have been initially for Obama, since he donated the max to his primary campaign, but something must have changed his mind.

I'm still leaning Obama, because he appears to have the best chance of beating HRC, but I have far more respect for Edwards simply because I know how much Jackson and Bonnie care, and how dedicated they are to helping our country.

Also, I know how informed they are - anyone who doubts that, should listen to Jackson's 1986 (I think), release "Lives in the Balance". I had no idea what he was talking about back then, but it rings even truer today than it did then.

9. I supported Obama originally.
I like him, but I don't think he has the fight like Edwards does, maybe in a few years.

Also, Edwards has fewer corporate ties and is ready to take them on and show them who really matters in this country.

I think Edwards stands a better chance against Clinton than Obama does.

To each his/her own.

:kick: :hide: Kick 'em in the arse Edwards!

Dems rule!

10. I have no problem with Edwards.
Although I did, originally, he has really grown and changed. My main concern is HRC NOT winning, so if Edwards is the guy who can keep her from winning, he gets my vote - I'm sure he would do a fine job, as would Obama. If the numbers change, as they very well might, I'll be voting for Edwards in the primary - happily.
