Hillary now has DOUBLE the people on the ground in Iowa than Obama for turnout efforts
http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-emily22dec22,0,5964961.story?coll=la-home-center

The unions are supporting pro-Clinton radio and television advertising and direct mail contacts with targeted voting groups. Separately, AFSCME has dispatched more than 200 paid workers to Iowa. The fly-in gives Clinton about twice as many such workers in the state as rival Barack Obama, officials of his campaign say.

6. Why is that funny? All of the candidates are fighting to win Iowa.
Right now, it's a 3-way race, and the winner needs to give it all they've got.

2. LOL!
O.K., Clinton has twice as many (100 more) "such workers" (paid workers). So what? It's the volunteers who run a campaign!

12. What a sweet compliment! I admire Dean so much!
Hardly anyone on this board says anything that nice about Hillary Clinton.

7. You know for a fact that they're paid?
Because I was a volunteer flown to upstate New York to work on a campaign because all other volunteers had gone to Iowa to work on the primary. It was my very first plane ride.

You may be right. But I'll need to see proof.

10. depends on the definition of paid
they could be paid union members with day jobs who are "volunteering" to help Hillary.

Volunteers are important, but his kind of organization is nothing to sneeze at.

11. This doesn't surprise me. I have some friends heading out to Iowa to volunteer for Hillary
during the holidays. It sounds like a lot of fun - they don't pay you, but they help find you a place to stay (usually someone's basement or something like that). I'd have gone too, except I'm moving to London on Jan. 1 so I'm busy with other things.

14. The thread title is a blatant lie.
Edited on Sat Dec-22-07 05:56 PM by calteacherguy
I assure both Hillary and Obama have far more than a couple hundred people on the ground to help with turnout efforts, and they aren't all from AFSCME.

These are the kinds of lies and distortions the Hillary campaign is banking on to win.
