Edwards, Clinton, or Kucinich? Who Is Leading In ... ? ======>
Edited on Mon Dec-24-07 07:46 PM by napkinz
There are other ways to measure a campaign besides polls, fundraising, and endorsements. I haven't seen any examination of Internet enthusiasm, for lack of a better term. I'm not talking about how much traffic the candidates' sites receive. I'm talking about participation online in the form of discussion, debate, etc. In other words, looking at the candidates' message boards. I went to three forums and found the following:

I'm surprised there is not more attention paid to this aspect of examining candidate support.

There is something to be said for enthusiasm, passion, and drive.

(From looking at these forums, can we say Edwards and Kucinich supporters are more passionate than Clinton supporters?)

Edwards has far fewer members than the other two, but far greater participation (if you look at how many more posts he has)

I am not, as it means nothing. Kucinich will do just as poorly in 2008 as he did in 2004. Ron Paul's online support is 100 times all the other candidates, and he is still in the single digits in most scientific polls.

If everyone knows the outcome, then why bother having primaries?

That said, polls and fundraising don't always tell the whole story.

Where did this Huckleberry guy come from, for instance?

9. Everybody knows the outcome? Who said that?
I stated my opinion... Kucinich stayed in the 04 race longer than most other candidates and came in 6th behind Sharpton, and there is nothing to indicate he will do any better in 08.

Republicans are dissatisfied with their candidates... hence the Giuliani surge, followed by the Thompson surge, followed by the Huckabee surge, followed by the McCain surge. They are still looking for a candidate that they like, and not finding it.

They still haven't found what they're looking for.

12. Dean started the internet approach
Maybe it's just waiting for someone else to come along and take it to the next level, whatever that level is and however it's done.

Also consider the fact that the MSM plays favorites. The only coverage DK gets is usually condescending, mocking, etc. (e.g., UFO nonsense CNN focussed on)
