LE News Iowa poll: Edwards 29%, Obama 29%, Hillary 28%, Richardson 7%, Biden 3%, Dodd 1%, DK 1%
I know that others have posted about this most recent poll, but I am interested in the numbers other than the top three candidates so I wanted to re-post to include Richardson's, Biden's, Dodd's, and Kucinich's numbers.

I wish Kucinich had more support.

I also wish that Dodd's superior record on progressive domestic issues would vault him past Biden and Richardson (two centrists who have better credentials on foreign affairs rather than domestic policy).

The fight between Biden and Richardson for 4th ot 5th place is one of the tightest contests within the Iowa caucus and it will likely determine which of those two candidate drops out before South Carolina. Given that Biden had a molehill peak to sneak ahead of Richardson earlier, it now looks like Richardson may have bumped Biden back to 5th.

C'mon Kucinich! C'mon Dodd!

1. Why are Biden and Dodd so low? I figured they would stand a better chance in Iowa.

3. My guess: If this is truly a "change election" and Congress has an all time low approval rating, it
must be a shitty time to run based on three decades of experience in Congress.

Plus, both Dodd and Biden have the highest percentage of contributions from lobbyists, which cannot be helping them.

I wish Dodd was doing better.

16. Those are $ not percentages
Given Dodd and Bidens's fundraising numbers the dollars you cite are higher percentages of their total take than Clinton's.

19. Well, let's see...
Joe had taken in 8 million when those numbers were reported, so that's aprox. 1.42% of his total contributions.

Dodd's is 1.84%, which the OP seems to be OK with.

Say what you will, but that seems like small change to me. Why don't you compare the corporate donations? That's where the problem is.

It's just bullshit anyway. Biden can't be bought, and that's why he doesn't have the money the others do.

I could care less what you have to say about Biden, and I am SICK of YOU constantly harrassing him,, and all of US who support HIM.

Like others in the race for the White House, Hillary Clinton has strong words for Pakistan, but has yet to propose the United States seriously consider limiting its aid to the country. But unlike the other leading Democratic presidential hopefuls, Edwards and Obama, she has accepted tens of thousands of dollars from Pakistan's lobbyists, Cassidy & Associates. Its founder, Gerald Cassidy, long ago maxed out his donations to her.

Info from opensecrets.org

P R E S I D E N T I A L C A N D I D A T E
John Edwards (D)
Former NC Senator; 2004 Presidential Candidate
Edwards is maintaining his steady fundraising pace behind Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, though he has announced that he will be accepting $10 million in public funding-and is encouraging the others to do the same. At the end of the 3rd Quarter, Edwards had $30.3 million, which means he will easily reach the $35 million his campaign originally said he'd need to bring in to be competitive in the early primaries. The former North Carolina senator has vowed not to accept money from registered lobbyists or PACs and only had minimal debt to re-pay after his 2004 campaign.

Total Receipts: $30,329,152
Total Spent: $17,932,103
Cash on Hand: $12,397,048
Debts: $0
Date of last report: September 30, 2007
Totals may include compliance fund receipts

For the record: Edwards is not taking monies from lobbyist.

5. The polls have been showing that Hillary is
Edited on Fri Dec-28-07 02:04 PM by wlucinda
the one who seems to be perceived as having the most "experience" and also polls well in other areas that would benefit Dodd or Biden if she weren't in the race. So.... for some reason, Biden and Dodd don't seem to have connected as well as Hillary has, so far anyway. Anything can change though.

9. Except the top 3 are surely pulling away from the rest. Talk of any of the top 3 finishing 4th is
nonsense.

The top three will be Edwards, Hillary, and Obama. Guaranteed.

Gravel will finish last. Guaranteed.

Between Biden, Dodd, Richardson, and Kucinich, their performance will depend on how well their support is concentrated. Some may think the order is important (and I agree that who ever loses between Biden and Richardson will be gone before South Carolina so the finish isn't meaningless), but am sure that none of them will get any delegates. Guaranteed

8. Kucinich has more support than this
Often times, they leave his name out.

This also cannot be seen as the would be results of a caucus. Only 10% of truly motivated people show up to caucus, and those people will be fighting for the only candidate with credibility- Kucinich.

And check this out
Kucinich Wins Virginia Democratic Party Poll
http://www.opednews.com/articles/opedne_david_sw_071228_kucinich_wins_virgin.htm

They want us to give up. It is called manufactured reality. They tell us who is winning according to who they want, then they fix the elections according to who they want. Kucinich supporters need to be ready to fight AND do their own exit polls. They will attempt to fix the primary- why wouldn't they. WE have to fight back.

23. If You Look At The Last Couple Of Weeks Of Polling
And compare polls by the same organization, i.e., ARG to ARG, Strategic Vision to Strategic Vision, Research 2000 to Research 2000 etcetera, they (all) show the same phenomenon regardless of the headline numbers and that is HRC and JRE are rising and Obama falling:

Please don't take my word for it...Look for yourself:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/ia/iowa_democratic_caucus-208.html

It's like a footballl game... Your team is up by fourteen at the end of the third quarter... Midway through the fourt quarter your team is now only up by three...You don't have to be Jimmy The Greek to say how it's going to end...

The battle is between JRE and HRC for one and two...
