OBAMA ATTACKS: The latest one is Sexist to a "tea"
Edited on Fri Dec-28-07 07:27 PM by DemKR
Barack Obama Has Stooped to yet Another Low.

At a rally in Iowa, Barack Obama said that "It's that experience, that understanding, and not just of what world leader I went and talked to in the ambassador's house who I had tea with."

An obvious jab at Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton. Does Obama believe that a woman's place is in the kitchen???

America cannot trust Barack Obama with these vicious, sexist attacks.

Come on, "tea party"? That denigrates HRC's and Benizer Bhutto's power as women. It is stupid and short sighted, IMHO. It doesn't belong in a campaign in 2007!

52. I think what's sexist about it is the reduction of the role HC played
Edited on Fri Dec-28-07 07:23 PM by spooky3
to a traditional sexist stereotype of doing nothing more than "having tea."

It's sexist because she had a much greater role than that in the Clinton administration (one reason why the Rethugs hate her) and it's sexist because tea parties are more closely associated with women (particularly the idle rich) and little girls than with men.

(full disclosure - I am a feminist Edwards supporter.)

be more subtle than just hating on obama and making inflamatory statements. not nec. this thread, but others are just off putting. and that does not help your candidate.

and prone to gaffes at this point. At least, a few more days and they will be out of Iowa and on to greener pastures. Some of the cahdidates have been campaigning for two years now and are only up to the overture.

If only we didn't have to jump on every word any of them utters.

38. Well, he didn't even have tea with these leaders.
What can the guy say? Having met most world leaders and having personal relationships with many of them is a valuable asset for any potential president. It is not Hillary's problem if Obama decided to run for president at a time when he only has wafer thin experience in the national and international scene.

He should have waited, but then again, he says that Michelle won't let him run again if he loses this year..........

I too think that it's a way of saying to voters: vote for me now or you may never see me become president. My response to any candidate who tries to use that tactic is: who cares???

Frankly he sounded henpecked: "my wife won't let me run again, wwwwuuuuaaaaa!!!!"

55. if she were male she would not have been First Lady and would not serve as hostess to Foreigners
She is trying to portray her years as First Lady as Executive experience.
He is pointing out that experience is really about the judgements you make, not the people you meet at official happenings.
As a First Lady, Hillary had little power to make policy judgments,
and as a Senator she has made some egregious errors.

He seems to be saying that experience in these matters is crucial, yet Hillary's experience consists of having tea with world leaders. What experience does he have in foreign affairs?

This constant sniping on both sides is so damned juvenile. They need to step out of the high school cafeteria and participate in a serious discussion of very serious issues facing us.
