As a Dean supporter, I will vote ABB
Edited on Mon Dec-29-03 07:38 PM by a_random_joel
I understand where some here are coming from, as far as sitting home if Candidate X is not the nominee. The key is beating Bush! My approval of Dean does NOT trump my feelings about Bush.

I understand there are many people who have been energized by Dean, and I understand that some of them will not vote if he is not the nominee. Fine, but we must not lose sight of the "big picture."

Sour grapes does not play here, friends. The stakes are way to high for that crap.

That said, I wish the constant sniping by all the other candidates would stop. They are not getting anywhere. The common logic has it that these attacks are defensible because they warm the nominee up for the real attacks that Rove and Co. will unleash. I used to subscribe to that "wisdom", but now I believe it is just going to help Rove and Co., not help the nominee.

Dean supporters, I hope you will vow with me to support the eventual nominee whoever he or she might be.

Other Candidates supporters, please communicate with your candidates that the sniping has GOT to stop! The media have already started in, and your candidate will be the eventual target, withthe same crap thrown at them, if Dean falls out of favor - besides, you are playing right into Rove's hands. Bush will be sitting on a $200+ million war chest, while our candidates squander their resources against each other. Not smart.

"Unite the clans!"

1. There are many D candidates that I will vote for
and some that I might not. I just haven't decided yet 100%.

2. Indeed I will too but
I have been truly disappointed by attitudes of fellow democrats....including the candidates. They inflict wounds.....yes indeed they do. Appears there is no element of remorse.

I saw Crossfire, and must say, Dean is right about all the INTERNET followers....where will we go? We may vote, many may not as they can become disenchanted by the lack of "team spirit" of the other candidates and supporters.

3. Having a Change of Heart
I have said many times that I would vote for Fidel, Saddam or anyone else before I would vote for the "squatter" and I have supported more than one candidate monetarily, however, some of the Dean bashers have really soured me as of late.

4. I would hope that
when Dean doesn't get the nomination (hey, I can use whatever crystal ball I want, this is my post) he will insist to his supporters that they get out and support and vote for the Democratic nominee. And I would expect that of all of the others who don't get the nomination, as well.

There is nothing more important than beating bush this time around.

6. Do you think someone like me would listen?
No, I will not as many will also refuse.

14. I agree
and I would hope that the Dean supporters will work hard to reach out to others if Dean is the nominee, as well.

7. This Dean supporter doesn't know ANYONE who is gonna
sit this one out. All the ones I've encountered (and I've encountered quite a few) are ABB. I reject the premise. These little DU spats over top dog don't have anything to do with the real world.

9. Yes, they may vote but not get
busy with a campaign......Many new and motivated Dean democrats will feel the pain of internal tension that is brewing right now. It may really deflate the surge if Dean is continually trashed by all. I loose respect for the bashers. I am planning a family trip to the Iowa Caucus next month...to work the Dean campaign.

I won't do it for the bashers if they get the nod. Many may have the same resolve as I.

11. Bashers in DU have nothing to do with the real world...
I'm motivated and feeling no pain from this silliness. I don't wade into this forum too much. I'm really glad they separated them, so we can talk politics without getting into the silly top dog squabbles.

12. I find that good advice.
I'm very disappointed by the hateful behavior. I heard it might get bad but never imagined that fellow democrats would behave so poorly.

It reminds me of how family members "true colors" come out when an aging rich parent or relative is dying. I've seen this a lot as a nurse.

Anyone else see the similarity?

10. Plain and simple, I would never vote for anyone but a Democrat
Edited on Mon Dec-29-03 08:41 PM by MODemocrat
There is one candidate that I don't care for, but even he would be better than the idiot we have sitting in the office of the president now.:hi:

13. As Clark supporter
I will happily vote for and support any of our candidates that gets the nomination. I make an exception for Lieberman, but fortunately, I don't think we have much to worry about there.
