1. I just posted in another thread...
In response to someone saying Hillary would bring out Repub votes in droves... yes, they would love to see Hill get the Dem nom... it would fire up all the Repubs to get the vote out! They would love nothing better!

4. But 5% of the "Dem" votes in Iowa caucus being GOPers voting for Obama is said to be a good
because that shows Obama (the DMR poll assumption) is bringing us together.

The DU rules do get confusing.

11. I think so, because the "GOPers" aren't happy with their candidates
and many aren't happy with the current administration. Many of them also hate Hillary with a passion we reserve for gw himself. Looking for a candidate they can live with, they choose Obama. The guys toasting Hillary are talking about a candidate with similar ideals - at least that's what I got from the article.

6. Actually this article sites a Republican toast to Hillary
"NURSING a beer in a bar not far from the White House, a senior Bush administration official was handicapping the presidential race and it was the usual tale of woe regarding the Republican field, with him lamenting that there was no standout candidate uniting the party.

But then he leant forward -- and this is a lifetime Republican -- and said: "You know, this is going to sound weird coming from me, but I trust Hillary. She might bein the left lane, but at least she's on the same highway."

10. Hillary and this dude are NEOCONS...
Hillary is following the neocon playbook so dutifully.

Look at her pro-war, Kyl/Lieberman vote. She essential has remained silent
while our government is converted into a Fascist abomination. She's a compliant,
dutiful neocon enabler.

Anyone who hadn't figured this out by now--is living in a fool's paradise.

2. Folks in the military likewise feel the nation would be both safe and military people treated fairly
with Hillary as President - which they say they do not feel with amy of the other - GOP or DEM - candidates.

I wonder if that is also a bad?

Seems this post is the opposite of the usual Hillary divides us, or 46% of folks will NEVER vote for Hillary. Here a GOPer says that Hillary in a general election wins the middle and thus the presidency - and salutes her with a drink - and we are told that is a bad.

3. an article from October is all you can drag up
this is what makes you all seem so silly..
and the Goldwater girl... now really.. she was a teenager doing what her Republican dad wanted.
By her senior year in college she was campaigning for Gene McCarthy... and that was 40 friggin' years ago. Crap like this makes you seem very immature.
Discuss her issues and votes... fine.

9. Goldwater statement bad choice of words...I got that from her book.
But you are right, it was a long time ago and the book is probably 10 years old or so ( I bought the book as I once was an admirer of Hillary) still I apologize for the statement.

Still I am concerned that a senior Republican said "At least she is one the same highway" insinuating she was on the same team as them.
October...not that long ago.

13. She was 17 years old and was raised Republican.
I give her credit for changing her political and personal views while in college.

Her biography came out in 2003.
