Crowd size mean nothing if most of the people are flakes who can easily be influenced or intimidated in caucus proceedings or don't even bother showing up.

once an investor in unethical corporations that specialize in foreclosing on poor people, always an investor in unethical corporations that screw poor people.

4. 'Electibility' was the main issue in 2004. 'Change' is the main issue in 2008.

Two different issues, two different outcomes.

Hillary is totally the "hyped up" candidate--just like Dean--who will end up
tanking in the Iowa caucuses.

Hillary--just like Dean--began a steady decline a few weeks before the Iowa
caucus--and bottomed out going into the caucus. After enjoying front runner
status for so long--that long, slow decline to the bottom will feel like
a ton of bricks for Hillary--just like it did for Dean.

Both Hillary and Dean didn't campaign very well in Iowa either. Kerry had the strongest
campaign and and he took Iowa. Edwards learned from his first round in Iowa and has
campaigned well here, as has Obama. Hillary's campaign has been an uninspiring
laughing stock, chock full of planted questions, a lack of openness and a very
artificial feel.

Should be interesting...

8. Typically 1/3 of registered Dems show up for caucus
in Iowa. That may not seem like a ton, but consider its not a simple process like voting any time during a 14 hour period. You have to commit at least 3 hours on a work or perhaps school night. That might mean getting a baby sitter, missing dinner with the family and or missing a kid's sporting event. Some may even work evenings.

Plus, this season, more so than others, will offer up some damn cold weather. I salute those who go out and argue for their candidates in Iowa. It's a helluva a lot harder for someone in Iowa to participate in the system than those in primary states so frankly, I don't think its "flakey" that many don't show up.

Keep in mind that Iowa voters are incredibly well-informed voters. Those who show up have most certainly studied the candidates. They have probably seen most of the candidates speak and have met them. They are among the most educated citizenry in the US with one of the highest rates of post-secondary education in the country.

The good news is that Republicans in Iowa vote rather than caucus so they can do so all day long, yet it's predicted that because 'thugs think they have crappy choices and are so disillusioned with their party's performance, that they will show up at about one third the rates of Dems.

11. It was a little under 20% of Dems in 2004
who caucused. Plus about 24,000 Independents (about 3%). And that was a record turnout.

Republicans actually do what amounts to a straw poll. They meet at a set time like the Democrats but then they just merely vote.

Every post you put up here is so so so so so negative, its very tiring, and reeks of being very worried/insecure about your candidate.
