About being non viable

CNN, and perhaps other outlets, show how the Iowa caucus goes. They all say that the followers of a candidate who receives less than 15% of the votes, and hence, is non viable, can then join other groups. This is why we hear about the "second choice."

But in theory, at least, others can join a non-viable candidate to make him one. For example, say in one precinct both Kucinich and Dodd are non-viable (hey, these are only examples). Yes, Kucinich is reported to tell his followers to join Obama, but what if they decide to join Dodd, instead?

What if Clinton has so many that some join Dodd to weaken Obama?

Just something to keep in mind.
