8. That still ranks as one of the strangest things I've ever heard.

I had spent a number of days hiking in the West Texas mountains, completely out of media contact. I was driving back as the results were being reported. I finally got some grainy AM reception, couldn't make out much, and then heard bits and pieces of the "we're going to Michigan" thing, and then out of the static came that truly unnatural noise. I had to wait two more hourly cycles to finally figure out what had actually happened. I thought the guy won.
