Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 09:38 PM by Mike03
"Hillary is an ambitious woman"? Isn't that sexist and insulting????

Why is HRC held to this higher standard, so much higher than the standards that, say, Fred ("the retard") Thompson or John ("senile") McCaine are held to? She is supposed to fight assertively for office of the POTUS, but she is not permitted to be wealthy or assertive ("aggressive")?

Why is assertive "agressive"?

When did this standard become accepted in the mainstream media that Democrats were supposed to be so pathetically naive and unwilling to support their own very deserving candidates?

3. It precisely is.
I'm not a Hillary supporter. But I am a feminist and I've been saying this for years: Of course she's ambitious. Duh. Since when do unambitious people run for President?

We take it for granted that the "default", "normal" (i.e. male) Presidential candidate is ambitious and we go from there. It's not a negative, it's a basic starting point. But when a woman organizes her life around advancing in politics, all of a sudden it becomes a terrible character flaw.

5. Does Obama seek power?
Is that why he's running? Or Edwards?
