Obama Fan here: Edwards won the debate
Not changing who I am voting for....but I thought he had passion that others lacked. I thought his attack on Hillary was solid...responsible and appropriate......Hillary's response was slightly shill but more importantly utterly forgettable.

No Gaffes. no knockout punches.

I though Richardson took the experience issue off the table when he talked him being the only on e to balance a budget or lead a government.

Hillary was ok, but I don't thin she did anything to draw ne support her way

Same with Obama.

If Obama Gets a big bounce out of Iowa and Edwards gets a bump out this debate, I think Hillary is going to be possibly looking at another third place finish.

1. Agreed Perky
Edwards won. Obama didn't have any big mistakes, he held his own. Clinton came off angry to me.

4. I agree Perky, also being an Obama fan
Obama looked tired and depleted, but held his own after the attacks. Richardson really took the experience argument away from Clinton in my opinion. Clinton started off rough, but thanks to Richardson and the mods...was able to come back slighty from Obama and Edwards. I don't think she did enough to slow him down though. But Edwards was the strongest and toughest I think out of all 4 of them.

3. I agree with most of what you said

I think Obama didnt do anything bad and had a solid performance, but I thought Hillary came off downright nasty and mean. i think lines like her "Can we have a reality break?" response was incredibly nasty. I see her losing some support to Obama and Edwards. I think Obama wins by 12 still, but Edwards could sneak into second

7. I agree with you
Edwards won. But Barack won too. Because he stuck with his message and wouldn't engage in fighting.

8. Obama did what he had to do; make no mistakes.
He'll win in NH and Clinton will get in third.

9. Exactly what I said
Edwards was on his A game tonight and the rest were too exhausted to give any great performances. The rest did fine, but not great.

10. Obama and Edwards both did what they had to do
Obama was playin with a lead and he turned in an errorless performance. Edwards was the most compelling person up there, which he needed to be. Clinton's night will be remembered for her change rant...bad for her.

26. That's right; earlier in the race he probably would have been panned
for being too laid back tonight. But now he has a big win in Iowa under his belt and momentum in New Hampshire, so the media looks at it differently. It's not always fair, but at least Obama is on the right side of the dynamic now.

11. Edwards no doubt.
I thought his strategy of diminishing Hil was masterful. Change: Obama and myself, leaving Hil out. He said remember who finished first and second in Iowa. Was it enough to bring Hil down? IMO that's what Edwards really needs.

;) Edwards has a passion for 'the people' and it comes across. Obama is an excellent candidate however, and I would he glad to support him if he gets the nod. :hi:

I'm shocked that one of the talking heads in the M$M gave Edwards any positive attention!

14. Edwards by far.
Of course I'm biased, but when he finally got a few openings close to the end with economic questions, he was able to deliver his populist message very effectively, and emotionally. The audience was asked what issues mattered most and answered economic issues by far. Nothing remotely close.

Obama held his own. Clinton was on the attack several times and came off as being irritable that she wasn't considered a change candidate too. But she had some very good responses. She now seems to be against the war. Did she change her position on that recently? I think a draw between Clinton and Obama.

17. Agree and a note about Clinton
I watched the stream where they showed simultaneous audience response to the candidates. Clinton consistently had a disparity between democrats and independents, with the indies giving her much lower marks (around the zero line or below), especially during her more angry responses.

If New Hampshire independents are as significant as they say, Clinton could have actually hurt herself some.

18. I agree, especially with your last sentence. I see a possibility of Edwards at least 2nd in
NH now..if the people of NH watched the debate, and I PRAY they did ! Obama and Edwards do well together.

Edwards did not answer the direct question addressed to him: what did he accomplish in the senate.

25. Yes he did.
He said he'd give one example. He, McCain, and somebody else that I can't remember pushed through a bill (that I also don't remember) and got it passed in the Senate. Bush vetoed it.

I wish I could remember which bill it was, but I'm dog tired and my brain is fried right now.

But yes... he did answer the question.
