It's true: Obama did what he had to do.

2. Actually, Edwards was much, much better.
Obama isn't bad, but he's no match. H. Clinton should get out of the race now because she's just trying to ride the wave of being a Clinton. She really has nothing new to offer

3. Check out how many times his screwups were documented on mediamatters
http://mediamatters.org/issues_topics/search_results?qstring=halperin

so he is not a reliable source regarding Democrats.

If that link doesn't work, just go to http://mediamatters.org/ and search for Halperin.

It's a VERY long list of problems.

7. I got no dog in the race right now...
But I thought Edwards was on fire...
Clinton was second - weeaker at first, then came back stronger in the second half...
Richardson was - ehh...
Obama was SLEEPY!! He just seemed so exhausted...I wish he'd taken a nap...

I dont have cable so this is the first debate where I saw the whole thing - not just snippets...
Overall, the Democrats were all just so above the fear-hate of the Republicans - thought Huckabee is much more pleasant than the other Republicans...

14. pretty much agree
though I did see Obama as sleepy. Next to Edwards he did seem subdued but not 'Fred Thompson'-like

I wonder how many watched the debate.

9. "Calm, relaxed and comfortably swathed in the new mantle of frontrunner."

Obama

Calm, relaxed and comfortably swathed in the new mantle of frontrunner. Very well prepared both substantively and stylistically for what a determined Clinton brought his way, although he might have shown more graciousness when the likeability issue arose. Defended himself but didn’t get drawn into a colloquy that would take him off message. Overall, did not encounter too many mines throughout, and kept things sober and understated. Wise enough to parry the night’s final question, and rather than revisiting a past debate error, offered a concise version of his positive message.

Grade: A-

only candidate that addresses the real issues with passion and sincerity. I have no doubt he'll fight for what he, and most progressives, believe in.

15. So the Republicans have endorsed Barack Hussein Obama
Halperin is a huge REPUBLICAN shill.

Too funny.

When will people wake up?

The Republicans want Barack Hussein Obama to be their nominee. They love him.

Today, you should have heard the local Firehouse (all union guys) saying how fucked we are if Barack Hussein Obama is the nominee.

At least some folks are awake out there.

28. Oh, no, not at all.
I am a Democrat.

You do know that Halperin was fired from ABC because his news was too skewed to the right, don't you? Time picked him up.

He is part of the right wing machine.

Sorry for telling the truth. It must hurt, huh?

But continue on. Karl Rove loves every minute of it.

Dummy.

25. So wrong. As a Hillarite, I think she did well. Edwards did well too.
Obama looked the most tired of all of them. He was the only one whose voice was suffering. Guess he hasn't taken the care to conserve it over these past few exciting days. Guess that's what comes from inexperience. He was umming and erring a lot. His suit jacket was not flush with his shirt at the back of his neck (it was riding up, accentuating his beanpole physique.) And I don't think he really had any memorable lines. If people want to give this debate to Edwards, I can accept that. But Our Girl wasn't far behind. This was not Obama's night.

1. He stayed above the fray
2. He was able to stay on message and let Edwards rip at Hillary
