Edwards wants some of those "change" votes.
But who is he trying to take them from? Obama is the one who owns the Pavlovian "say-change-and-I-drool-on-command" types according to the Iowa polls I saw. So is Edwards taking on Hillary to challenge Obama, not support him?

Just a thought.

1. Edwards vs. Obama is VERY interesting turf.
A) Obama has crafted his whole campaign to be a Hillary killer, not to fight Edwards
B) I just saw Edwards on CNN and his points are really compelling. I feel like we SHOULD fight these corporations.

3. In a two man race against Edwards, Obama just MIGHT be compelled to make some substantive stands...
... and try to not let Edwards steal away the populist sentiment that might get Edwards more of the edge as the race winds down. If he does, we win. If he doesn't and Edwards wins? We win... If it is a two-way race between Clinton and Obama, there's far less pressure for Obama to try and appeal to the populists if Edwards and Kucinich aren't making noise and certainly the media won't let anyone be threatening the remaining candidates with those "annoying" populist questions that people want answered, but the corporate media doesn't.

So, in a way, I think that a two way race works for all of us!

4. Edwards clearly wants it to be
Him vs. Barack. He needs to at least come in second in NH.
