John Edwards have seen the light and he's about to cross over.
LOL. Edwards now realizes he can't win the election! So he and his followers are crossing over to the other side. He will be Obama's VP running mate...then 8 year from now his dream will come true. He'll still be young enough and will certainly look young enough for the presidency. Actually he'll look even more presidential 8 years from now. Maybe a few gray hairs and wrinkles and additional experience would ensure him the presidency. I don't see any young Democrats who could beat him in 2016...except maybe Jim Webb.

I really think Edwards has had an epiphany and realizes his only chance to ever be president is to get there via the office of VP. I just hope and pray Elizabeth will be here to share in his/their dream. And I hope she gets 8 more years as first lady...she sure deserves it!

1. Where did you hear about this?
Is this a prediction, or is this etched in stone somewhere?

2. Please elaborate. When, where how and what words did he use to fuel your realization?
Or are you just trying to create nothing out of nothing.

18. When all the talking heads acknowledged that Edwards sunk the Clinton
ship by criticizing Hillary during that debate and praising Obama. They even have an exact time for it. By the way this is just my opinion that I'm expressing.

5. I am so disappointed that he has caved into the spewing and slurring
and hate and vile of the Obama dolters. I just can't believe he thinks rove's type of campaigning is the right one. I guess rove got to Obama. this is his dirty trick this election cycle. He knows Obama is the kiss of death for the win so he went right to the Mr. Ego trip to get him to, instead of campaigning, slash and bash and flame Hillary. He knows his platform is a bunch of shit so that's the only way he could get a nod. But THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES WILL BE.....HILLARY CLINTON....

All the hate and vile Obama is spreading will rise up and kick him in the you know what.

Now that's my kind of talk!

But I still think Edwards won't attack Obama anymore. He knows where his bread and future is buttered.

16. Maybe it will get the most prophetic post award.
We'll see...bookmark this thread and remember you heard it here first. Then we'll see how stupid it was.
By the way, I didn't say Edwards would drop out...he's a fighter! I just think he'll end up as VP and realizes that's better than just fading out into political history. It'll be a smart move and insure him of a future presidency. I think he realizes that now and he'll be much more critical of Hillary and less critical of Obama. Just keep watching!

8. he's not trying...nor will he become...the vp candidate
He's trying to elbow Clinton out of the race and present this as a two-person race with change as the main theme, setting up an argument about styles of change.

He won't be anyone's VP. Not Clinton's, not Obama's.

25. LOL! No, really, I like Webb, but...Rudy's had three wives, and it's
not playing well in the hinterlands. Webb also wrote a novel that GOPers used to make him look like a pervert. I am afraid he would be more liability than asset.

Edited on Sun Jan-06-08 11:54 AM by hayu_lol
using Obama's almost 40% from Iowa and Edward's almost 30% figuring that between them, they will split Hillary's almost 30%.

Thats why the tag team format for the debate.

The sword however can cut both ways so we have to wait, observe, exactly how this will play out.

My opinion, which being free ain't worth much, is that it will be Edwards that falls by the wayside over the course of the next two primaries.

Here is a request for info from anyone from NH:

I understand that the electorate in NH is about 44% Independent. From a radio show early this morning(John Rothman--KGO), heard from a guy on the ground in NH about a quirk in NH voting: Can an Indie use a dem ballot for the presidency and then go back and get a Repug ballot for the rest of the people and initiatives? Guy on the ground said that you can do this in NH.

Every state will have it's own individual quirks in the process. Enough to drive a sane person mad.

28. Don't kid yourself
Edwards would jump at the chance to play second fiddle. Hell, he'll probably cut a deal just for a job in the administration. Question is, does he cut it with Obama or Clinton? Obama offers him a job to get out and throw votes his way; Hillary offers him a job to stay in and keep votes from Obama. Which will he take?

But neither of them will want him for VP. He did a lousy job for Kerry last time, and there is absolutely no reason to think he'd do any better this time.

36. Call me Rip Van Winkle
I wasn't aware that Edwards had been VP before.

Hopefully you're referring to his performance as a VP candidate on the campaign trail. If so, I still say that besides having the freepers steal Ohio, Kerry's reluctance to go after the Swift Boat Liars for Bush was the biggest reason we got stuck with Dubyah for a second term.

Obama and the media spent 18 million dollars in a state that allowes ind to go either way...Republicans gave him Iowa, now lets see if the strong thinking people in N.H., follow...there could be a back lash and fall for Edwards, his national polls moved 3% in one day, sorth of looks like a back lash against media and republians switching parties to vote...You can't fool all the people all the time, maybe part of the ti me.

35. Edwards is trying to cross over, yes, but him as Obama's VP would be the kiss of death for Obama
Obama might not be that experienced, but he's got a good enough memory to remember what Edwards did for John Kerry in 2004....ZILCH.

If Obama gets the nod, Edwards would be the last person he'd want on his ticket. He'd be looking for someone with foreign policy experience, someone like Biden perhaps, or Richardson.
