letter from Edwards to Dean supporters
I got an e-mail today signed by John Edwards, addressed to Dean supporters. Did anyone else get this? Does the fact that the Dean campaign released my e-mail address to the Edwards campaign imply some kind of endorsement by Dean or his staffers? I'm a little concerned about my e-mail address being distributed like this.

Parts of the e-mail appear below:

The upcoming Presidential campaign is about bringing desperately
needed change to our country by offering Americans a positive,
optimistic vision for the future. But as Governor Dean and I
know all too well, we will never change anything in America
until we take the power out of the hands of the insiders and
special interests that are pulling the strings in Washington and
return it to the people. That is why I am writing to you today.

You fought hard with Governor Dean to take back our country from
a president who has no idea what it means to be unemployed,
unable to make tuition payments or unable to pay the bills. Now
I am asking you to resume that fight with me to create an
America that works for all of us again.

snip

Governor Dean brought so much to this race - not just his ideas
and passion for change, but hundreds of thousands of Americans
who have never participated in a campaign before. They have been
a powerful voice for change, and Democratic Party has heard them
loud and clear.

2. I'm not sure...
Any prediction I've ever made about Howard Dean has been wrong, so I'm not sure I even want to take a stab at whether, whom, and when he'll endorse.

3. I think if it hasn't happened yet
it's unlikely to happen at all.

Plus, as of yesterday, Kerry is 18 for 20, Edwards 1 for 20. Edwards needs to score 61% of the votes in the remaining primaries to win to the nomination - a near impossible task. I just don't see Dean endorsing him.

5. I think the Ohio Dean organization had their own list and they shared it.
I think I read that here at DU, so, grain of salt.

so don't know why you got it.

I'm voting for Dean on March 2. I'm not supporting Edwards unless I have to.

9. I saw off the DFA O-blog that Gen Dean sold their database to Edwards
This may be why you got it and I, a 42 year old, did not.

Gen Dean was seperate from DFA.

14. I think you've got it.
I was placed on the Gen Dean list because I showed up at a few Students for Dean meetings. As a 24-y-o grad student, I thought the Gen Dean messages were aimed at people a few years younger than I, but it didn't bother me enough to get off the list.

I'm a little annoyed that they sold my name.

11. Non sequitor.... comment on how much I have "heard" the candidates
I was skimming the post... and the letter. Suddenly... I was hearing Senator Edward's voice reading the words (thought... wow... that's odd).... so I tried to read the next paragraph as if Kerry had written it... heard his voice as well.

Is this the sign of a political junky? Watched enough of the debates that I can "hear" the candidates voice/intonation when I read statements...

just felt like sharing... carry on...

12. Will Gore go to Harlem to endorse Edwards?
I hope so. Although, at this point. Edwards can fall on his own.

13. We'll now know how many deanies were in it for the issues, and how many
for that POWER thingy. And also, how many can count....(Trippi can't, to disatruous consequences for the campaign)

16. What the hell are you talking about?
Don't worry, most of us think both of these guys are scumbags.

Some support Edwards in their hate for Kerry because of the Osama ads, though.

17. My Reply To Edwards:
I've taken another look at your candidacy since Molly Ivins has some nice things to say about you, and I agree there's a lot of there there. I haven't made a decision yet (other than to support the nominee), but you're definitely on my list.
