This isn't an attack on Obama or support of Hillary but man, does Bill handle himself well!He has still got it and says what he feels needs to be said whether anyone wants to hear it or not!

I do not get all the posts directing him to shut up, or those supporting the GOP who tell him to shut up.He certainly isn't the "embarassment", I have heard he was claimed.I may not agree but he is supporting his wife and his own record and doing a damn fine job of it!

2. He's lying is the problem. And consider this; what if he was trying
to destroy JE? Would you be so compassionate?

Here's Obama's response to Bill's little rant:

7. Umm. I don't see where Bill lied.Sorry. Obama "didn't want to criticize
Bush and Cheney on the eve of their nomination" Why not? Sorry but I don't get it.I also don't get why Obama has repeatedly voted to fund the war. That is just one of those things I don't "get".
If and when Bill attacks Edwards, if he is telling the truth , and does it well, I would just have to deal with it.

10. Gobama!
Nice. :D

“And you know, I understand why he’s frustrated. But at some point since we’ve corrected him repeatedly on this and he keeps on repeating it, you know it tells me that he’s just more interested in trying to muddy the waters than actually talk fairly about my record.”

I am sorry, until Big Dawg quits slinging shit, I can't applaud him.

23. Well, no, he's not lying. And Obama selectively quotes himself in his repsonse.
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 05:49 PM by Skip Intro

Obama did say there wasn't much diff betwen he and bush, and that he didn't know how he would have voted.

Let's see the whole MTP exchange, shall we:

----------------------------
MR. RUSSERT: You were not in the Senate in October of 2002. You did give a speech opposing the war. But Senator Clinton’s campaign will say since you’ve been a senator there’s been no difference in your record. And other critics will say that you’ve not been a leader against the war, and they point to this: In July of ‘04, Barack Obama, “I’m not privy to Senate intelligence reports. What would I have done? I don’t know,”And then this: “There’s not much of a difference between my position on Iraq and George Bush’s position at this stage.” That was July of ‘04. And this: “I think” there’s “some room for disagreement in that initial decision to vote for authorization of the war.” It doesn’t seem that you are firmly wedded against the war, and that you left some wiggle room that, if you had been in the Senate, you may have voted for it.

SEN. OBAMA: Now, Tim, that first quote was made with an interview with a guy named Tim Russert on MEET THE PRESS during the convention when we had a nominee for the presidency and a vice president, both of whom had voted for the war. And so it, it probably was the wrong time for me to be making a strong case against our party’s nominees’ decisions when it came to Iraq.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21738432
---------------------------------------------------

yep, three quotes supporting the war or open to supporting the war, and the excuse - political posturing.

Obama is the one misrepresenting himself now, in your link.

12. Former presidents have never given the opposition party material to attack their own party's nominee
The only upside is it's Bill Clinton, and few people believe a word he says anyway.

He should have stuck to promoting Hillary. Then again, that wasn't working, was it?

Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 05:56 PM by saracat
so he wasn't sure "how" he would have voted? That covers Hillary and all of them as well as defends himself. That wasn't about Edwards.

16. It was right before the convention
He said he didn't have the intelligence so he couldn't say with 100% confidence - but from what he did know he opposed the war. That's what he said. He was trying not to criticize the candidates where he was going to be the keynote speaker.

The Clintons know that. Bill just stood up there and bald-faced lied.

17. Obama was covering Edwards butt......and not saying what he really
thought about that IRAQ Resolution when he was on Russert the eve of the Democratic National Convention.

Had he said to Russert...."no, I wouldn't have voted for that Dumb war"....I'm sure that Russert's name question would have been...well how can you support the fact that both candidates for the Democratic party voted for it?

8. He sounded foolish. Assuming Hillary was at the 15 debates, she
could have pounded Obama on this (if, of course, it was true). Every time Bill opens his mouth he hurts Hillary. I'm so annoyed now that if she happens to be the candidate, she won't get my vote - and I've always been prepared to hold my nose and pull the lever in November.

Bill being petty, while his wife supported the exact same things that Obama did and more!

Further, I find Bill to be using the GOP playbook, by attacking Obama on Obama's strength; that of honesty.

I think that Bill not mentioning that 2004 was election year, and that Kerry and Edward, 2 Iraq Yea voters, was Obama's prime motive for saying any of what he said in that one interview that Bill Clinton refers to.

Guess it is still what the definition of IS is with Ol' Bill....who is taking away from his legacy by lowering himself as a distortion merchant. Wonder if he still hangs out with Bush Sr.?
