Newsflash: HUGE turnout in New Hampshire
Barack Obama's candidacy and record turnouts are not separate events , folks.

Many of you may not like this, but it's how we designed this campaign to work; to revive moribund voters who were turned off previously. To eliminate the close " both candidates are the same" elections.

Just enjoy what we're bringing to the table here: record Democratic turnouts
booyah.

1. The sad thing is...
I'd be willing to bet Clinton supporters prefer a much smaller turnout (less people taking part in the process) if it meant their candidate won.

5. To be fair, it's easy to say that when your candidate's on top...
if the reverse were true, and big turnouts were good for Clinton, there'd probably be some Obama supporters hoping people stayed home.

7. Hm
I don't think I've ever officially declared my support.

Or if I support any of the big 3.

9. Now, now. Be honest.
All I have to do is do a post search on you and I can see that nearly all of your posts are pro-Obama. Nothing wrong with that. I plan on voting for the dude myself. But you don't have to be all mysterious about it. :P

2. Obama AND the desire to throw out the Republican bums
Without Obama, the turnout would be heavier than normal, but not this big.

4. I hear this every election it seems.
Think I'll wait until the votes are counted to believe it. No offense intended.

6. Well, there's already been record turnout in Iowa, and initial reports of long lines...
presage a big turnout in NH too.

10. How exciting this is! Democrats in waves showing up at the polls now in two states!
Obama is something else! Congrats to you, Capn Sunshine...you've been there all along for him. You must be very proud today.

I came to Obama late, as you know, but he's making me proud of our party and of America. I feel like I did with Bobby Kennedy in 1968.

11. Just know that we've discovered a way to bring out people
who said in '04 and '08 "there's no difference between the parties"

Celebrate with us.

21. Right..and Dean's entrance
onto the national scene has helped create our atmosphere today..we don't want to lose out on real Leader again.

And our sweet Dean is still goin' Strong!

I was undecided too and spent so much time just defending Obama from hillary's group that I became an accidental supporter. I like Edwards and glad he's in the race!

Thanks again, Capn'..be interesting when the other states have their primaries. Ours is Feb 5th. I see your's is now the 5th of Feb, too.

16. This is the outgrowth of the Dean movement.
Internet organization has been the key to information and activism that has in the past been only for the dedicated few.
GWB has been such a disaster that the whole country is very anxious to get on.
I don't remember a time in my life that the 70+% of the country felt it was on the wrong track.

There will continue to be huge turnout across the country, and the people will support the person who represent change and invites them to become a part of their own solutions to the problems that face us.

:hi: Mike
